If you always get a 500 that would be different. You might be getting the error when the internal communications between the web server and the MySQL database server have a high level of latency, especially if you have added lots of plugins. You might try disabling each plugin and allowing it to run for a reasonable enough time to determine if it were the culprit. OTOH, you might follow @John P Bloch's advice and just switch hosts. Ironically today there was the following message posted to a long running thread on the LinkedIn WordPress group about web hosts where most people are giving GoDaddy a very big thumbs down. Here is that post: hi. i seemed to have wandered into a morass... i became a godaddy reseller so i could

The site was fine http://www.quertime.com/article/arn-2012-08-01-1-how-to-fix-godaddy-web-hosting-500-internal-server-error/ on my testing server, but then when I moved it to my client's GoDaddy Hosting Server, I get all kinds of errors. When I tried to install my Visual Composer plugin, which was only being used on two pages, I get the 500 error. I removed the plugin and have spoken with both the plugin developer and GoDaddy...both sending me to the other to internal server each other to resolve the issue. Now, I have given up on that and am building a custom page template in Dynamik. After working with that, I get the 500 error again. I don't know why.... Is this a GoDaddy hosting issue that anyone has seen before? is this common with GoDaddy. I have only 4 plugins running. 3 total themes installed. I don't believe it's a space issue. then you should pay attention to this article. Due to the growth of traffic, you might upgrade your web hosting plan from Economy or Delux to Windows 4GH Unlimited, with the intention of getting larger space, bandwidth and expecting for better performance. However many users have encountered 500 Internal Server Error after the upgrade. If this is the reason that leads you to this post, here are 3 solutions you can try to address the issue. 1. Disabling Web.config File to Fix the 500 Internal Server Error In some cases, disabling or renaming the web.config file in the WordPress folder might solve the 500 Error. However the issue will re-occur if you re-enable the file. Anyway this method can let your site temporarily up and running while you look for causes of the conflict. 2. How to Display Detailed Message for 500 Internal Server Error By default, GoDaddy’s Windows hosting accounts display a generic error when applications generate an exception. The reason being is that detailed error messages allow a malicious user to obtain sensitive information. To display detailed error message on IIS 7, you can modify your web.config file (located in the WordPress folder) by replace the existing code with below sample code. The custom error message helps you to locate the specific code that is causing the issue. Caution: The code samples below do not constitute a complete web.config file. Before changing your web.config file, we recommend creating a backup.
