importing any file [Resolved] Internal Server Error importing any file tomlajoie @tomlajoie 11 months, 1 week ago Hi, When I try to import either a .csv or Excel file I get "Internal Server Error". I can create tables but I can't import anything. I have searched and searched with no resolution to the issue. Which import are you using here? Is that the "Import" screen of TablePress? I'm a bit confused about these error messages, as for example WordPress does not ship with a "/wp-admin/index-extra.php" file that is mentioned in that error… Can you try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switching to a WordPress defaul theme like Twenty Fifteen? My XML file is 7mb so when I try to import it I receive a "500 Internal Server Error" page. I read some other posts and tried using the "WordPress WXR File splitter" and tried to split the files into files only 300kb each. Tried to import again and still receive the 500 error page. I am on a VPS server so can change settings if required. Error logs and php.ini file locations can vary depending on the server OS. You need to change the upload and timeout limits for php. Do that either in the main php.ini file or enable php.ini in your web directory and try: max_execution_time = 120 max_input_time = 120 memory_limit = 128M post_max_size = 10M upload_max_filesize = 10M share|improve this answer answered Aug 20 '12 at 4:21 markratledge 6,89512142 Thank you for the answer. This article http://teslathemes.com/topic/importing-demo-content/ will give you more information on it! There are five major reasons for these errors to occur in WordPress: 1. Incorrect web server configuration If your web server (whether internal server it be Apache or IIS) is configured with incorrect directives, they can cause 500 errors to occur. If you have checked the following remaining causes, and they fail to resolve the issue, then the problem surely is of the server configuration. So the web hosting support should take care of the problem. They may blame the error on software you have internal server error installed without even checking to see what is contained in their error logs, but after having checked the following steps, they will need to help diagnose and fix the problem. 2. Incorrect file permissions This isn’t often the cause, but may happen that file permission for WordPress, plugins, and themes, who need to be set at 755 for folders, and 644 for files, may be set differently. It is not a good idea to think that setting permissions more loosely, like 777, or on contrary setting permissions too strict, will relieve the problem. It can actually often cause this and other errors. 3. Corrupt files or files containg errors in code Usually improper/errors in file transfers to the web server cause corruption to occur. It may look like the file is sitting there just fine, but something in the process caused the file to be unusable by the server. For example, if you uploaded a text file in binary language instead of ascii it will render the file unreadable by the web server. C

Through the Tesla framework "Import demo" I also get stuck on “Importing Demo Content. Please sit back and relax while magic happens.” If I try "Export/Import options" I get the error "unserialize() [function.unserialize]: Error at offset 4080 of 6944 bytes" If I download the XML file in the above post and use the WordPress Tools -> Import option I get thrown to a webpage that says "500 (Internal Server) Error" I can't get the demo content to load.
