All to often in Internet Explorer if the application crashes all you see is a page saying - 'The page cannot be displayed.' then further down the screen you have the generic error 'HTTP 500 - Internal server error'. Well you'll be glad to know there is something you can do to help debug the application and find out what exactly is coursing the application not to run correctly. To do this you need to turn of Internet Explorers, Friendly HTTP Error Messages function, by following the steps below. There instructions work in IE5, IE6, IE7 and IE8. First you need to select 'Tools' from the menu at the top of Internet Explorer. Then from the drop down menu choose 'Internet Options'. Once the 'Internet Options' Dialog box opens you want to choose the 'Advanced' tab. You will then see a list of Advanced functions of Internet Explorer that can be turned on or off by checking the tick boxes. Look down the list for 'Show friendly HTTP error messages' and uncheck the tick box for it followe
it is absolutely useless in helping to determine what kind of problem is going on. So, the first thing we need to do is internal server turn off your friendly error messages. Go to Tools menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar. Click on Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab all the way on the top right. Scroll down internal server error and find the line that says ”r;Show friendly HTTP error messages." Turn this option OFF (make sure the box not checked). Try again to generate the report you were working on. If you get an error message on your screen, it should be three or four lines of what will look like database code - please copy this message and e-mail it to support@completecampaigns.com, along with a detailed description of exactly what you did immediately before the error screen (include any query information, any boxes that were checked, etc) and we'll have a programmer take a look at it.
