here in regards to this but all those people are on Windows. I'm on Mac OSX 10.10 - 2 GHz Intel Core https://community.bitnami.com/t/odoo-v8-osx-10-10-install-postmaster-hang-error/41767 2 Duo ,4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. Start this install.Ask me to create admin user ID/Pass. Then ask me if I want to set up email. I have tried both - to setup and not set up. No difference. It then ask if I want more info on Cloud services - No. Then ask me Database Server Parameters: Port internal server 5432 (which is correct). It then proceeded to install but hung on Postmaster. Here is the error when I cancel:"There has been an error.Error running /Applications/odoo-8.0-14/postgresql/bin/psql -U postgres -c "ALTER USER postgres PASSWORD '****'": psql.bin: FATAL: the database system is starting upThe application will exit now." I sent the directory to the trash an reattempted. (4 times now with once internal server error having a restart in between)After each time on "Database Server Parameters: Port 5432" I get“Unable to bind to the given port number. Please select another PostgreSQL Server Port.”I have to incrementally increases the # by 1(5433,5434,5435) for it to accept and move past this point. Did you install PostgreSQL while the Bitnami installer was executing? Note that the Bitnami installer already includes PostgreSQL, so you won't need to install it by yourself.
