Discussion in 'Plesk 9.x for Linux Issues, Fixes, How-To' started by PaddingtonC, Jul 2, 2012. PaddingtonC Kilo Poster Messages: 49 My Plesk 9.5.4 control panel running on Ubuntu http://forum.odin.com/threads/plesk-control-panel-displays-500-internal-server-error.260794/ 8.04 LTS the error " 500 - Internal Server Error" when I try to view it in a browser. The websites on the server are working but its just an issue of going to the control http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1147766 panel. How can I resolve this? PaddingtonC, Jul 2, 2012 #1 Hostasaurus.Com Tera Poster Messages: 436 Reboot the server, or preferably just restart the Plesk web server software 'sw-cp-server' and 'psa' services. I'm not internal server familiar with Ubuntu but on RHEL you'd: /etc/rc.d/init.d/sw-cp-server stop /etc/rc.d/init.d/psa stop /etc/rc.d/init.d/psa start which will bring back up both of them. We see this regularly on 9.5.4 where Plesk just random starts giving 500 errors. I'm sure Parallels will just tell you to upgrade to 11 to fix the issue. A 500 error can indicate many things, such as bad file permissions on your web content or even some kind of segmentation fault. If this is a _new_ VPS as you mentioned and you have not uploaded any content or made any changes, I'd recommend checking with your hosting provider's support team to investigate.
