Base Documentation Downloads Plesk University Release notes Blog Become a Partner Russian German French Spanish Chinese Japanese Italian Language English Russian German French Spanish Chinese Japanese Italian any Search Website returns the error '500 - Internal server error'. Domain logs show: .htaccess: RewriteRule: bad flag delimiters Article ID: 124935, created on https://kb.plesk.com/en/114882 Mar 19, 2015, last review on Jun 17, 2016 Applies to: Plesk 12.5 for Linux Plesk 11.0 for Linux Plesk 11.5 for Linux Symptoms One of my website 'domain.tld' returns 500 - Internal server error. All others sites works fine. From domain logs, the following error appears: # tail -f /var/www/vhosts/my.domain.com/statistics/logs/error_log https://kb.plesk.com/en/124935 /var/www/vhosts/my.domain.tld/httpdocs/.htaccess: RewriteRule: bad flag delimiters Cause From the error it is clear that the issue is with the file /var/www/vhosts/domain.tld/httpdocs/.htaccess. .htaccess files provide a way to make configuration changes on a per-directory basis. A file, containing one or more configuration directives, is placed in a particular document directory, and the directives apply to that directory, and all subdirectories thereof. Resolution Rename the .htaccess file to /var/www/vhosts/domain.tld/httpdocs/.htaccess_backup and check the access to website and domain logs once again. Discussion in 'Plesk 9.x for Linux Issues, Fixes, How-To' started by PaddingtonC, Jul 2, 2012. PaddingtonC Kilo Poster Messages: 49 My Plesk 9.5.4 control panel running on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS the error " 500 - Internal Server Error" when I try to view it in a browser. The websites on the server are working but its just an issue of going to the control panel. How can I resolve this? PaddingtonC, Jul 2, 2012 #1 Hostasaurus.Com Tera Poster Messages: 436 Reboot the server, or preferably just restart the Plesk web server software 'sw-cp-server' and 'psa' services. I'm not familiar with Ubuntu but on RHEL you'd: /etc/rc.d/init.d/sw-cp-server stop /etc/rc.d/init.d/psa stop /etc/rc.d/init.d/psa start which will bring back up both of them. We see this regularly on 9.5.4 where Plesk just random starts giving 500 errors. I'm sure Parallels will just tell you to upgrade to 11 to fix the issue. Hostasaurus.Com, Jul 4, 2012 #2 PaddingtonC Kilo Poster Messages: 49 Thank you this fixed the problem.
