In fact I can receive a text from this number but when I try to reply to that text I get the error message again.I deleted the contact info in case there was something broken there and I'm trying it with just the raw phone number but without any luck. What can I do? It's my boss's number so it's important I fix this problem. All other contacts and texts are working just fine, it's just this one phone,a Samsung galaxy on T-mobile if that helps. Solved! Go to Solution. 21 people had this problem. Me too E

Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. http://androidforums.com/threads/1121611611-error-122-invalid-number-fix.886366/ 0605040710000041637469766174653A64743D3135". I have been reading all over the internet and it seems loads of people are having the same problem but there is no solution. I noticed the common denominator seemed to be people changing carriers. I found two http://ismashphone.com/2011/12/trouble-sending-sms-messages-on-your-iphone-heres-a-possible-solution.html people stating that switching from T-Mobile to ATT caused the problem as it was TMobile sending an internal text to track your Fav 5 members. This meant if you switched carriers the message was getting rejected. Then it appeared invalid number a lot of people were getting it when texting friends, no idea what caused this. Finally someone suggested it was an issue with the phone trying to access the prior carriers voicemail. I went into settings>more>application manager then to the TMobile visual voicemail system. I cleared the cache the clicked "turn off" which ultimately deleted the app. I then went to the dialer and held down the #1 key which called my voicemail (not sure if it was Tm error invalid number or ATT system) and it said my password was expired and I changed it. After doing all of this the messages have completely stopped. I cannot say for sure I know the cause but it appears to be voicemail related. Im guessing after switching carriers the phone still tries to access the previous carriers system. I am simply posting this to help and I am going to post the link back to the on 10-15 websites where people appeared to really be struggling. in: Featured, iPhone How to, iPhone Tips And Tricks Last week a friend of ours was having trouble with her iPhone. She couldn't text another friend. It was just this one particular friend, so it didn't all make sense. She had at one time been able to text this friend, but picture messages never worked. Once she restored her iPhone and put it under her own account, installed iOS 5 and the rest of the great stuff you do when starting from scratch, text messages to this particular friend stopped working completely. She could call her, but she could not send any sort of text to her friend. The error message was something like this: "Error: Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10-digit mobile number or valid short code." She immediately thought "It needs an area code." She checked the number, everything was there, all 10 digits. She just figured her iPhone didn't like her. On a whim, (before I had seen the error message for myself) I suggested just erasing and re-adding the contact. Figuring something may have been amiss. It worked. Next thing I know I receive a text saying "Jay, you're a genius! It worked!" (Aww, shucks). So, the story here is that even though the number in the contacts list appeared to have an area code and everything required to send a text message, it wasn't working. She later said she wished she had thought to just re-enter the number, but sometimes the simplest solutions never occur to us, especially when we are dealing with the frustration of not being able to get something to do what we need it to. Sometimes you need to step back and look at the situation from the outside. Otherwise, you let those little annoyances and frustration impair good judgement. iSmashPhone.com hosted by WP Engine; 10% Off WP Engine's Premium WordPress HostingOptimized your page load times, reliability and security.
