When doing so, there is an option to save the password on the client machine, i.e. the machine running Access. This may not always be desirable, so there is an option for system administrators to disable this possibility. This is done by creating (you've guessed it already) a table called MSysConf with some parameters. This is described here: How to store SQL database login IDs and passwords locally http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=209502 So what this then means is that when Access is instructed to create the linked table, it will send a query to the target server checking if this table exists. If it doesn’t, then the user is allowed to save the password locally. If the table exists (with the settings described in the KB) then the user is not allowed to save the password locally. We can verify this ourselves. .1 Create an ODBC DSN (start->run->odbcad32) called MSysConfTest that uses SQL Authentication. .2 Start SQL Profi

schema Table Lookup Quick Fields Version 8 Updated July 15, 2014 Subscribe Subscribed asked on
Microsoft Odbc Sql Server Driver Sql Server Invalid Column Name
July 15, 2014 I'm receiving the following error when attempting a Lookup in Quick Fields (8.3.0.413) against a SQL Server table that is not part https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/spike/2010/10/22/invalid-object-name-msysconf-state-42s02-code-208/ of the "dbo" schema. I'm using a System DSN to manage the connection to the SQL Server. ERROR [42S02] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'ServiceRequest'.[Database=] [Method=ExecuteFirstResult] I'm able to configure the Lookup Criteria as I normally would, however the error occurs when the session attempts https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/59451/ERROR-42S02-Invalid-Object-Name-Error-for-nondbo-schema-Table-Lookup to perform each lookup during processing. I can also get the error to occur with the 'Test' link in the Lookup Criteria configuration. I'm able to work around the issue by defining a view in the "dbo" schema and executing the Lookup that way, however this seems like it shouldn't be necessary. 1 0 Post Link Answer APPROVED ANSWER replied on July 15, 2014 Thanks for reporting the issue. As a workaround, you can write a custom query to perform the lookup and just specify the schema name as part of the table, i.e. [schema].[table_name] 1 0 Post Link Replies Be the first to leave a reply .
