Wednesday, April 09, 2008 12:38 PM Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi, Sometimes you have to reboot ISA for these settings to take effect, secondly, have you created rules for your VPN Clients network? The error means that your ISA Server was not reachable by the client and nothing happened with the VPN connection by the way. So it probably needs a reboot. Also, try and run this command on the command line on the ISA: netstat -na | find ":1723" That will show you if ISA is listening for PPTP calls. Re, Dave. main firewall. Here are the steps I made to run the VPN Access: -Defined my user to allow access in the dial-in properties in AD -Defined the ISA Server machine to be member of RAS and IAS Servers -Added a group named Remote Access and added my user to that group -Ran the wizard in isa server management to allow vpn access. Defined 5 connections, user groups emote Access pptp and l2tp protocols, left the address assignment to the dhcp server and restarted the server. -Ie created a rule in the firewall policy to allow the vpn traffic. Defined in that rule ll outbound https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e3d22a7a-a2ca-40c2-8b2b-2eae0b275bd6/error-721-vpn-client-isa-server-2006-st?forum=ForefrontedgeVPN protocols PN Clientsin access rule sources, nternalin access rule destination and applied that rule to all users. -Run the wizard to add windows 2003 services to add the vpn service on the isa server machine. The rest of the users are getting the following VPN error (721) Event ID: 20209A connection between the VPN server and the VPN client 80.96.230.188 has been established, but the VPN connection cannot be completed. The most common cause for this is that a firewall or router between the VPN server and the VPN client is not configured to allow Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) packets (protocol 47). Verify that the firewalls and routers between your VPN server and the Internet allow GRE packets. Make sure the firewalls and routers on the user's network are also configured to allow GRE packets. If the problem persists, have the user contact the Internet service provider (ISP) to determine whether the ISP might be blocking GRE packets. Is there a way to increase the VPN connections to ISA Server from a single IP?Thank you, Wednesday, July 16, 2008 12:26 PM Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi,check this : Multiple L2TP/IPsec VPN clients behind a NAT deviceHTH,Tarek_______________________Tarek MajdalaniISA Server MVPhttp://www.elmajdal.net/isasever Proposed as answer by ElMajdalModerator Friday, August 22, 2008 4:41 PM Marked as answer by Keith AlabasterModerator Wednesday, June 17, 2009 6:00 PM Friday, August 22, 2008 4:41 PM Moderator Microsoft is conducting an online survey to understand your opinion of the Technet Web site.
