I am running the latest on my iBook, but still find it strange that all of the shared playlists (from different computers) won't work. I could see this being the case for one or two of them, having an older version of iTunes, but still weird that every shared playlist won't play songs... PaulF9929.11.2008, 21:40There seems to be problem with the iTunes server when the music library on the 4220 exceeds a certain number of music tracks. Worked Ok for me with around 11,000 tracks, but after increasing tracks to 16,000, iTunes clients give error -3260 when trying to access the shared library on the 4220. Rhythmbox on Ubuntu also can no longer access the 4220, saying that the unit is uncontactable. Always used to work before increasing the number of tracks. Intrestingly enough, one machine is used where the 4220 is the host music library for iTunes (via Windows drive-mapping) and this has no problems at all, showing that the problem lies with the iTunes server part of the 4220. I'm afraid that this may well mean the end of using the 4220 for me, as I will have to migrate to a NAS box that supports a decent-sized iTunes library. PaulF9918.12.2008, 20:41I have now determined that this problem is caused by MP3 tags. Not quite sure what the exact cause is, but I managed to pinpoint a handful of MP3s which caused the iTunes error message whenever they were added to the 4220. The error goes away if the MP3s are removed and the 4220 rebooted. Discovered that the MP3s will work Ok on the 4220 iTunes server if I first clear the ID3v2 tags using MediaMonkey and then reload them to the 4220. So, looks like the iTunes server part of the 4220 can't handle certain data/tags in MP3 files. This problem only affects the iTunes server on the 4220. If the same music files are accessed via Samba, they play fine using iTunes, WMP and MediaMonkey.
