I get this error every few minutes and the audio from the external speaker doesn't work except for the alarm clock. The external speaker will begin to work only when docked. Audio from the headphone jack still works fine all the time, though. The issue started happening about two days after a water incident. I was at work in the basement with the phone in my jean pocket and had to run through a little water that was spraying over the walkway from a broken pipe. I only got a little wet, but now after researching the error and seeing how it could be related to water damage, I'm thinking some water may have got inside the connector because it had a greenish look to it. After cleaning the connector out and wiping the green away, many resets, and restoring the phone, I still have the same issue. From comments around the web, I've read that simply cleaning the connector got rid of the error for a lot of people. What further steps I should take? If I was to open the phone, where could the source of the issue be, other than the connector itself? Answered! Yes No Voted Undo Score 3 Cancel Comments: I was dealing with this error and is just completely annoying when listening to music. It winds up losing audio when using headphones, forcing me to reconnect my headphones. I just replaced my dock connector with a new one and I am still getting the error even after all the normal suggested software fixes for it. Looks like it may be the headphone jack that needs to be replaced. 07/12/2011 by Kyle most times it has been the dock connector that is the fault on any phones i have had this with.
