When you try to restore, update or downgrade your iPhone's iOS, you might face any of the following iTunes Errors: 1600 1601 1602 1603 1604 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEFqhlD_1ZM According to Apple, all those 16xx errors listed above except 1604 are associated with firewalls and/or security software installed on your Mac/PC. Here are the things you should try to fix these iTunes errors 16xx (1600,1601,1602,1603,1604): Step 1: Make sure https://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-fix-itunes-errors-16xx/ you've got the latest iTunes software Step 2: Check to see if your USB ports are good. Don't use hubs to connect the iPhone to the computer. Change the port if you're getting a 1604 error. Step 3: If the error still shows up, try the following: If you're trying to update, backup all data and then enter your iDevice in DFU mode. iTunes will recognize a device in DFU mode and prompt you to restore it. Now try restoring your iPhone. Hopefully, this should set it right. Step 4: If that didn't work, you should try: Download and run TinyUmbrella In TinyUmbrella, click Start TSS Server Now try restoring your iPhone to stock firmware. Step 5: Try iReb Download the IPSW firmware file for the iOS you want to update to. Open iTunes, put your iPhone in DFU mode Close iTunes (after DFU) and then start iReb. I am using an iPod Touch 1g with 3.1.3 firmware. First of all, iTunes does not detect my iPod Touch unless I put it into recovery mode. Once it detects it, I tried the shift+click and selected the whited00r ipsw. It freezes at preparing itunes error ipod for restore and then the ipod just goes back to recovery mode and iTunes tells me iPod could not be restored (error 1603).After reading a few posts, i decided to try just clicking restore in iTunes, but the same thing happens and it gives me error 1611 this time. I then read about iREB and tried doing both again after using ireb but i get the same errors. I have tried 3.1.3, 3.1.2, the whited00r ipsw, and also tried itunes error 1600 a snowbreeze custom ipsw but get the same errors with every one. After it fails I have to use ireb recovery loop fixer to get it working again. Once its working it doesn't detect in itunes unless i put it into recovery mode or use ireb pwn thing. This is currently where I am stuck and I would be very grateful for any advice. Thanks. « Last Edit: May 21, 2013, 07:17:02 am by schafey562 » Logged May 20, 2013, 06:58:00 amReply #1 ilovemikey Information Hero Member Jr. Team Member Posts: 161 Country: Country: I ♥ Mikey Device: iPod Touch 2G My Computer: Windows Re: iPod Touch 1g Unable to Restore Hi! Welcome to the forumsFirst of all are you completely sure it's an iPod Touch 1G? I know it sounds silly but there's a possibility it's a 2G. The easiest way to find out is to look at it - if there are volume buttons on the side then it's a 2G, if there aren't any then it's a 1G.Which version of iReb did you try? The newest version is known to cause errors with older devices, so maybe you should try iReb 5 if you haven't already. After using the program your device will be in Pwned DFU mode and you should be able to restore your device without getting errors 16xx in iTunes.Youtube Video: How to enter Pwned DFU ( Windows )Youtube Video: How to enter Pwne

Usually, the error you get says: The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600 - 1601 - 1602 - 1603 - 1604) There is an easy and quick fix for this. The downside is that it is Windows only (Mac version is in the work), and that it only works for iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iTouch 1G and iTouch 2G. In other words, no iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G support. iREB (iTunes Restore Error Bypasser) is a neat little tool that will help you fix these errors. Step 1: Download iREB from here. Step 2: Launch iTunes and put your iPhone in DFU mode (hold power and home button together for 10 seconds; release the power button and keep holding the home button until iTunes tells you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Step 3: Once iTunes has detected your iPhone in recovery mode, close iTunes and launch iREB. Step 4: Select your device and wait for the screen to go red or white. Step 5: Launch iTunes and hold the SHIFT key while clicking on restore. A window will open. From there just browse for the custom firmware you want to restore to. You should be good to go.
