After trying to upgrade to 7 hresult 2147024770 all I've had is problems. I previously used quicktime 7 beta or whatever apple called msvcr120.dll is missing it, and that worked fine. Until iTunes 5 came along. On installation of quicktime 7.0.3xxxx, I get "error 42: could not load or find the quicktime active x control" and "error 1904.Module "c:\program files\quicktime\qtocontrol.dll" failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473".If I try to manually register the dll, I get the error "dllregisterserver in qtocontrol.dll failed. return code was 0x80070005"I have tried uninstalling quicktime, removing registry entries, removing the activex control manually from the registry (when I have uninstalled there is no files in c:\windows related to the control but it still appears as installed in ie so i deleted the registry keys and it disappears from ie)The stupid thing with all this is that it actually plays video and other media in ie and firefox. It's just when i try to load the player, i get the error 46 again.Any ideas? Anyone from apple care to help? Thanks Posted on Oct 27, 2005 8:38 PM I have this question too Close Q: Error 1904, error 46 All replies Helpful answers by Michael Mason, Michael Mason Oct 12, 2005 2:53 PM in response to Nick Brook Level 1 (90 points) Oct 12, 2005 2:53 PM in response to Nick Brook I also have the Error 46. I hope maybe it will now be fixed with the new Itunes 6 and Quicktime 7.0.3. I bet a clean install of windows would fix it for sure. Advertisement WendyM Trusted Advisor Thread Starter Joined: Jun 27, 2003 Messages: 4,041 Hi all, I don't know whether this is a Windows question or an iTunes question but I figured I'd start here. I'm installing iTunes software from a CD on a Windows XP Home machine (a friend's laptop) and as it was installing, I got an error message that reads "Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesMiniPlayer.dll failed to register. HRESULT - 2147220473." I tried to register the dll by going to Start/Run and https://discussions.apple.com/thread/216346?start=0&tstart=0 typing Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesMiniPlayer.dll" but I get the error message "LoadLibrary(C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesMiniPlayer.dll) failed - A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed." I searched for the dll on the CD, but it's not there. I tried ignoring it, but iTunes won't detect the iPod and I can't transfer songs to it. I was able to successfully install the software on my own Windows XP Pro machine with no problem. It detects the iPod, transfers the music, no issues. But https://forums.techguy.org/threads/cant-register-itunes-dll.344101/ I don't want to be stuck transferring music for my friend. Help? Thanks! I suspect that the MSI contains a CA which is attempting to register that DLL but, for whatever reason, the CA isn't being executed in UI mode. If you log the install, it will identify the rogue CA for you, if you can't identify it by eye. Once you know which it is, you can condition it out (using 'If 0=1', or something like that) in your tansform. That transform will obvi
is this to you? Average Rating 0 5998 views 06/05/2007 Software Deployment Package Development A frustrating re-occurance when repackaging (I am using Wise), is the error 1904, Module xxxx failed to register. If I run the MSI manually, I can hit ignore and continue on. Is there any way to auto-ignore these errors? I know I can go in and fix each one, but it is a pain and it is an ongoing problem. Answers 0 Delete .dll or .ocx from selfregister table. And add it as a file. Answered 06/06/2007 by: ogeccut Please log in to comment Please log in to comment 0 I know I can go in and fix each one but this happens frequently when I do a snapshot, and some files need to be registered. I was just asking if anyone knew of a way to suppress the error when it fails to register a file during the msi install. Load the Package in Wise, make sure you are in 'Installation Expert' and select the file in question. Select 'Details', go to the 'Self-Registration' tab and make sure 'Do not register' is selected. If you are not willing to debug your own work, make sure no one else is depending on this stuff! Just can't understand such an attitude.
