I have a podcast (feed://pathwaycc.net/sermons/feed) that was working perfectly until a few weeks ago. I didn't change my view or http://forums.ilounge.com/podcasts-podcasting/242028-error-404-what-does-mean.html anything to do with the podcast. Itunes correctly identifies that there is a new podcast and even says the size of the file correctly but when it goes to download the file I get a 404 error. You will see if you click the link to my feed that the files are working correctly. It was not technically a valid RSS feed without the spaces escaped and at least recent versions of iTunes on Mac would error out saying it could not find the file. be because of one of the following issue:Network issue in case of streamingCorrupted/Truncated downloaded file (can be a podcast server issue or a Podcast Addict issue)Android unsupported format (missing codecs ?)Unsupported characters in the downloaded file nameYour device mediaplayer service crashed and rebooting the device will https://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/295763-i-m-having-internal-player-unknown-error-mes fix it.The app uses the device built-int mediaplayer service to play episodes. It means that when this kind of error occurs, Android mediaplayer service is the one returning the error. If you have this error with one specific episode it might be https://forum.blubrry.com/index.php?topic=6547.0 a compatibility issue or a corrupted file issue, but if you're having this issue with every episodes, it might indicate that Android mediaplayer service did crash. In that case only rebooting the device will fix this issue. If a downloaded episode fails to itunes error play, please try playing it with the device default player (you can use the Share button in the player screen to do so). If it works, then it looks like a Podcast Addict bug and I should be able to fix it. If it fails as well, then I won't be able to help, because the app (like most player app) relies on Android mediaplayer framework. In that case the only workaround might be to try playing the episode with MX Player or VLC itunes error 404 because they are using their own engine. If it still fails, please check the file size using a file explorer app. If the file size is less than 1MB please send it to me so I can analyze it.Please send me a mail (Settings/Contacts) with the following information so I can try to find the root cause of this issue:Android versionAre you streaming or playing a downloaded filePodcast feed url (long press on the podcast and select 'Copy url to clipboard' to do so)Episode nameThanks This article was helpful (thinking…) · Flag this article as inaccurate…Flag this article as inaccurate… · Admin → New and returning users may sign in Sign in prestine Your name Your email address Check! invalid email (thinking…) Reset or sign in with UserVoice password Forgot password? When I try to validate, I get error 404, but it goes ahead and loads what would be the correct xml.http://churchatsouthside.com/feed/podcast/But, I can get http://churchatsouthside.com/podcast/ to work no problem (I submitted that to itunes before I realized it was the wrong link - more on that later). So my first issue is getting the podcast only to work. I have four podcasts, two were on test posts that I deleted, and two are active, the two most recent blog posts. They already existed prior to the podcast, but I edited and added the media.I tried adding a channel but that didn't fix the main feed either. I attempted adding categories, and that feed validated, but it didn't update the subscription links in the posts. I removed both the category and channel options but still no joy.The site is hosted with 3 other sites, I wondered if that could be part of the issue? One is a business, one is a blog for the pastor, the other is a redirect to the main .com church page. At this point I have no idea where I need to look on this.My second problem will be with itunes. Since I submitted the wrong feed, how do I need to edit the .htaccess to redirect? Or would it just be easier to edit the subscription links to the .com/podcast/ vs the .com/feed/podcast/ ? (1.7sec to load) .Also your image is very large (file size wise). Your image should not be more than 500kb. Yours is 1,331 KB.The reason for the slowness may be that you are hosting your media on your website.
