I’m getting an error 4251 when burning CDs!? I’m having this major problem with burning CDs with iTunes. I keep getting an error 4251. I don’t know what this is, and the description isn’t really telling me anything. It seems to only be a problem with my iTunes and not my other software. Can anyone help me? Solved iTunes error 4251 https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y550-Not-Burning-CD-s/td-p/799093 when trying to burn a cd Posted on 2009-06-15 Apple Hardware 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 3,202 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-06 iTunes version 8.1.1.10 - I'm trying to burn songs to a CD (I know I tried itunes error a CD+R, and I tried one from another package that I think was a CD-R, but not 100% sure). iTunes get through the "initializing" part, then it says "cancelling CD burn". Then an error window is displayed - "The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unkinown error occurred (4251)." (attached pdf shows the error message) Making things even worse, once this error is generated, you have to throw away the cd, because when you try itunes error 4251 again, it thinks the cd isn't blank. Looking at it in Windows Explorer, it shows a file for each song, titled, "track1, track2, track3" etc. Any ideas out there? iTunes-Error.pdf 0 Question by:cfwilbur Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bycfwilbur I figured out that the error was caused by either of two things: (1) The user who gave me the file is no longer a valid iTunes user, or (2) the songs given to me by that iTunes user were not downloaded Go to Solution 4 Comments LVL 17 Overall: Level 17 Apple Hardware 13 Message Expert Comment by:xema2009-06-15 If you tried to burn the CD with a song with DMR it could be the problem. From th elist of song you want to burn see if the last file on the CD corresponds to a DRM protected song 0 Message Author Comment by:cfwilbur2009-06-16 What does "DRM Protected" mean, and how can I determine if any of the songs in my playlist are DRM protected? 0 LVL 17 Overall: Level 17 Apple Hardware 13 Message Expert Comment by:xema2009-06-16 If you downloaded a song from iTunes store then it has DRM. DRM is a copyright protection that makes the file useless except to be played on the computer where you downloaded the song and that has been authorized in iTunes. 0 Message

I am now thinking maybe its a driver issue/corrupt registry/etc?A couple weeks ago, I was trying to burn a CD using itunes. it starts the burn process, but then after about a min. it cancels the burn and I get itunes error 4251. After googling that error, I tried several of the possible "fixes" Fresh install of itunes,I uninstalled the dvd-rom driver, I tried different blank media, I used a cleaner for the registry. Then I tried using Nero, and Nero doesnt work either. Initially I thought it was an itunes issue, but now that Nero doesn't work either, Im thinking its an issue with the drivers, or a software update??? I am running out of things to try...Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks. I have this question too 0 Kudos Rep
