I tried to lower my burning speed to 8x or even tried 2x nothing happened still getting that error 4261. Here's the course of how things went: 1 - Encountered two days ago trying to burn a specific play list in iTunes. Playlist contained both MP3 files and protected AAC. PC is four years old and never this problem to date. Restarted the PC - no change. Changed brand of media - no change. Finally decreased burning speed from "maximum" to 20x and was able to burn this playlist. I thought I had it solved. 2 - Encountered again today on a different playlist in iTunes. This playlist contained only MP3 files. No matter how slow you set the burning speed it didn't want to burn. Restarted PC - no change. Changed media - no change. Tried burning in RealPlayer - no change (same error, different looking dialog box). Tried burning different iTunes playlist - no change. You need to turn off any anti virus or spysweeper you may have on your computer before burning. If that dosent work you can check out this link. Are you using a cd? or dvd? any rewritables? Do you have a dvd burner or cd bunrer? The files your burning are they all on your hdd? playlists from iTunes? Any songs repeated duplicate names? Does the list exceed the size of the cd? What version do you have Tom of itunes? 0 Message Author Comment by:Tapostol2007-06-22 Merete, Thanks for the reply: burning a cd, tried a re-writable as well, I am using the lastest verison of itunres and using the itures burning software. I also used sonic record now (ithe pc is a one year old dell dimension) to do a test burn which worked with data and I tried one song from the iturnes librarry, songs are all downloaded to the itures library,the test burn worked. I tried to burn the full cd ( I did not exceed the 650 mb limit) and it failed. When I changed the cd rom speed the 2X it made it from 3 songs to about 9 songs total and the burn still failed. The end user of the pc is wants to keep using the itunes software
