My Windows 7 wont shut down Started by cinlasalle , Aug 10 2015 09:59 AM Please log in to reply 5 replies to this topic #1 cinlasalle cinlasalle Members 3 posts OFFLINE Gender:Female Local time:03:13 AM Posted 10 August 2015 - 09:59 AM For the last couple of days, my pc wont shut down on its own. It only happens when I first turn it on; I turn it on, do what i gotta do, when I finish can click 'shut down'...the 'shutting down' screen just lingers on. the circle spins....but it never shuts down. i have to unplug the main cord from outlet. If i turn the pc on again at some point in the day, it shuts down properly. So im not sure why that initial use is not shutting down properly. Please help!! The updates always fail with "Windows Update error 0x80073712" I've tried everything suggested in Microsoft's KB articles and nothing seems to work. DSIM options don't work (ScanHealth and RestoreHealth), this is the output: [==========================100.0%==========================] Error: 14098 The component store has been corrupted. sfc /scannow doesn't work. This itunes error 9037 is the output: Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation. CBS Logs say: ERROR_SXS_COMPONENT_STORE_CORRUPT I've tried doing a refresh which doesn't work, I assume because I was an upgrade rather than a new install? So, I am out of ideas. The last full backup I have is my Windows XP taken prior to upgrading to Windows 8 and I'm hoping I don't have to resort to that! Does anyone have any ideas? I've included the CBS directory as well as the DSIM directory and the SFCFix.txt file.
