I add? When I right-click on the album to get album artwork, sometimes iTunes cannot find the artwork. Even though the album title and artist name are completely correct it can't find it. The album isn't downloaded from iTunes.EDIT: The album was downloaded for free but sometimes iTunes is able to find the artwork even when it was downloaded. Also iTunes has stopped allowing me to copy and paste artwork from google (which is what I previously did) so that's why I'm querying this.UpdateCancelAnswer Wiki3 Answers Jeremie Varengo, Digital supply chain and music expert, ConsultantWritten 104w agoiTunes is using Gracenote (formerly known as CDDB) for retrieving the artworks from your own library. If the song / album / artwork / metadata was not made available to Gracenote by the right holders it https://www.reddit.com/r/ITunes/comments/3ptojn/get_album_artwork_problems/ can not be found.22.1k Views · View UpvotesRelated QuestionsMore Answers BelowIs album artwork effectively dead since iTunes doesn't include or display more than one picture field? What is the best way to add album artwork to iTunes, when its default method fails? How to add artworks on albums in iTunes in windows for free? When I add albums to itunes the album art is in black and white, how can I fix this issue? Why isn't Eminem's first album, Infinite, on iTunes? I don't think it should be different for Macs. What you do:Find the image on Google. Right click it and Copy it. Open up the Get Info section of a song or whatever it is. Go to the artwork section and add artwork. Then, just paste what you have copied into the thing that displays the file name, if you know what I'm talking about. It's a bar under all the file stuff. If you click on a file, the file name will appear in this bar. I don't know how better to describe it. But paste what you have copied in that. It will show up as a link. Click OK or whatever it wants. iTunes will see the link and download the image and set it as the album artwork. Hope this helped.14.6k Views Keaton Young, I GOT THA POWA!Written 110w agoIs that album itself on iTunes and you were downloading for free elsewhere? The simple answer is either there are invisible characters that don't match up in the description or title, or just the fact that you downloaded it from a different location could hamper itunes ability to automatically find the artwork for (hint: it doesn't use Google but you certainly could) My suggestion is to simply find the artwork, save it as a picture, then add it manually from itunes.22.2k Views · View UpvotesView More AnswersRelated QuestionsHow do you get your artwork on music album covers? Why isn't Album art

SoCal Cal New Member I've been using XLD to convert FLAC files to Apple Lossless format and noticed recently that Album Artwork is no longer downloading. I have the preference set to download artwork automatically when importing, but I get an error itunes error that states: Artwork for "ALBUM TITLE" could not be found. The requested resource was not found. I have the "Import Settings" preference set to Apple Lossless Encoder. I read that this solved a problem with people whose file formats did not match the import format. Is there something in the XLD converter that is not matched to Apple Lossless so iTunes doesn't recognize it? Any help appreciated. Thanks! Also, I get the same error when trying to get Album itunes error artwork Artwork manually. I've also tried just getting artwork for one track of an album as I've read that sometimes works, too, but same error. SoCal Cal, Sep 18, 2015 #1 kirk Administrator Staff Member I didn't know that XLD could get album artwork. iTunes can only search for artwork if you've ripped CDs with iTunes (or purchased from the iTunes Store). It can't do so if you import files ripped or converted with other apps. kirk, Sep 18, 2015 #2 SoCal Cal New Member kirk said: ↑ I didn't know that XLD could get album artwork. iTunes can only search for artwork if you've ripped CDs with iTunes (or purchased from the iTunes Store). Was this a recent change in iTunes? I've been converting FLACs using XLD for over a year and adding to iTunes and have had no problems fetching artwork until recently. Maybe it was changed in iTunes 12? SoCal Cal, Sep 18, 2015 #3 kirk Administrator Staff Member I've never been able to get artwork from iTunes. When you rip a track in iTunes, an Album ID is added to the file's metadata (you can't see it). That's how iTunes gets artwork. Curiously, Apple doesn't say that here: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH12361?l
