Itunes Error Authorization Is Needed To Access
posted this on January 9, 2010, 12:21 If you have a firewall installed on your computer or network, then it is possible that your iTunes displays the following error message when you are trying to download the episodes: This error is not caused by the PrepCast™ security - it is caused by firewalls on your computer or network. Here is what you can do: Are you trying to download the PrepCast™ on your office computer? Your company probably has a firewall in place that prohibits the download of podcast video files. You can speak to your network administrator and ask for an exception or you can download the PrepCast™ from another computer that does not have a firewall installed. For instance at home or on a friend's computer. Are you trying to download the PrepCast™ on your home computer? Open your firewall and change the settings to allow all traffic from http://www.prepcastfiles.info. If you don't know how to do that, you can also turn your firewall off for a few minutes, download all PrepCast™ episodes and then restart the firewall. But be careful! If you turn the firewall off, then your computer is unprotected. Changing the settings to allow traffic is always the better solution. We are sorry that we cannot help you fix this error. It is caused by the security settings on your computer which we cannot access and change for you. Topic is closed for comments Support Software by Zendesk

do not have enough computer access privileges. (Mac) It is recommended that you log in to your computer with administrative privileges when attempting to activate your Audible account. Once you have activated the iTunes software, you can log in with non-administrative privileges to listen to or transfer your Audible audiobooks. Usually, downloading the audiobook is enough to initiate the activation. iTunes will open and you will be prompted to enter your Audible account credentials. If you are not logged in to your computer with administrative privileges, however, you may receive this message: Could not authorize this computer because you do not have enough computer access privileges. Follow the steps below to resolve this error message: Quit iTunes. Browse to: Mac HD > Library > Preferences. Press CTRL and click Preferences. Select Get Info. Ensure that Privileges for all Names under Sharing & Permissions are set to Read & Write. Note: You may have to click the lock icon in the lower right corner and enter the administrative password first. Launch iTunes and attempt to play an audiobook. Note: You should be prompted to enter your Audible account information which will activate the iTunes software. If you receive the same error message, continue to the next step: Browse to: Mac HD > Library > Preferences. Press CTRL and click com.audible.date.plist. Ensure that Privileges for all Names under Sharing & Permissions are set to Read & Write. Note:You may have to click the lock icon in the lower right corner and enter the administrative password first. Quit and re-launch iTunes > attempt to play an audiobook. Note:If the audiobook begins to play, you’ve activated your iTunes software! However, if you’re still having problems, proceed: Browse to: Mac HD > Library > Preferences. Locate and delete com.audible.data.plist. In the event that you are still not able to hear your audiobooks through iTunes, click here to visit Apple’s Web site for more information on Disk Utility’s Repair Disk Permissions feature.
