Gepubliceerd op 13 dec. 2013While trying to update the firmware on an old iphone 3gs, I got the error code 1304 on itunes which prevented me from doing a firmware software update. To fix this problem, it involves just disabling the anti-virus program because it's preventing the update from happening. In my case AVG resident shield needed to be disabled temporarily. The same thing had happened to me while using Avira Free Antivirus. So remember to disable your anti-virus temporarily through the task bar on the bottom right if you can. I was able to finally update my iphone 3gs to ios 6. Categorie Wetenschap en technologie Licentie Standaard YouTube-licentie Meer weergeven Minder weergeven Laden... For some reason, Shift + Restore no longer works on any iPhone i try. I decided i would try a repair and then the problem was solved, i shift + restored and it went through the restore proccess http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f456/itunes-10-shift-restore-1093543/ until it got started preparing the iPhone. I got an error, 1304 i think, and i just closed iTunes and tried to Recboot out but that didnt work. SO I changed user accounts to try restoring and then Recboot on there. I tried to shift + restore but now it is not working again, continues as if i hadnt pressed shift. So i try the repair again and this time nothing. I switch accounts back and nothing. So i am asking. What can i do to fix my Shift + Restore? OR do i have to revert back to iT9 which has worked the whole time for me? I am only wanting to stay with iT10 as i like the new interface but i suppoose it is functionality first...:\. 09-13-2010, 07:46 #2 (permalink) [emailprotected] Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: philippines Posts: 6 Member: 701228 Status: Offline > Thanks Meter: 0 better to reformat your pc then install lower version of itunes. 09-13-2010, 10:42 #3 (permalink) anasshe No Life Poster Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: syria Posts: 889 Member: 205475 Status: Offline > Thanks Meter: 160 i faced same thing after updating my iphone 3g it is unlocked at all network after updating it to 4.1 i can not active it always say different sim but i m sure it is unlocked at all network because i upgrading it since 3.1.2 but

Usually, the error you get says: The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600 - 1601 - 1602 - 1603 - 1604) There is an easy and quick fix for this. The downside is that itunes error code it is Windows only (Mac version is in the work), and that it only works for iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iTouch 1G and iTouch 2G. In other words, no iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G support. iREB (iTunes Restore Error Bypasser) is a neat little tool that will help you fix these errors. Step 1: Download iREB from here. Step 2: Launch iTunes and put your iPhone in DFU mode (hold power and home button together for 10 seconds; release the power button and keep holding the home button until iTunes tells you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Step 3: Once iTunes has detected your iPhone in recovery mode, close iTunes and launch iREB. Step 4: Select your device and wait for the screen to go red or white. Step 5: Launch iTunes and hold the SHIFT key while clicking on restore. A window will open. From there just browse for the custom firmware you want to restore to. You should be good to go. iTunes should restore your iPhone to the desired firmware without giving you any error.
