is installing, removing etc. There are several things to check: 1) Check to make sure that the user is logged in under Admin or has install rights. 2) Check to make sure that there is no Parental Controls. 3) Uninstall iTunes in the following order: A) iTunes B) QuickTime C) Apple Software Update D) Apple Mobile Device Support E) Bonjour F) Apple Application Support Try installing again. If these do not work keep clicking retry on the uninstall screen till it removes the program. This is a quick time error. When you have uninstalled all Apple/iTunes products reboot and reinstall. 4) Confirm there is no antivirus software if so turn off the virus software. 5) Try Microsoft Fixit http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/ Posted by Beth Orta at 3:29 PM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest Labels: itunes error message No comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) Twitter Updates 2.2: FeedWitter Search This Blog Loading... There are a few of problems. By the way, I'm using Windows XP. Problem 1) An error message pops up when it is copying http://help.overdrive.com/customer/portal/articles/1481730-having-trouble- new files that says: "An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support", with a retry and cancel button. If I click cancel, the installation continues. 2) The next error message says "The installer has itunes error insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support. The installation cannot continue. Log on as an administrator or contact your system administrator.", with a retry and cancel button. I am registered as one of the computers admins, and I have tried installing it as one of the others, and the same problem occurs. 3) While installing Quicktime, an error message says "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mdnsNSP.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory." I'm assuming for itunes error writing an iPod touch, the second thing [application support] is essential. If anyone can help me with any of these problems, please tell me! Thanks in advance. xxorianna, Oct 23, 2009 #1 Sponsor etaf Wayne Moderator Joined: Oct 2, 2003 Messages: 60,946 are you logged in as an admin on that PC start control panel user accounts should tell you there ....if you can access OK, if not able to access then you need to log on as an admin user etaf, Oct 23, 2009 #2 DoubleHelix Banned Joined: Dec 9, 2004 Messages: 24,388 Is this your personal computer? There has to be some history with this system that we're not aware of. Did you buy it brand new? With Windows XP factory installed? If so, what security software do you have installed? If not, it's probable that the previous owner had some type of policy setting applied that restricted administrator users. It's the most frequent cause of this type of behavior.
