Open the following location depending on your operating system: Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates Windows 8, 7 & Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates Delete all files that end with a .ipsw. Now hopefully you can restore your iPhone without getting the Error 6 message. If the above steps don't work for you, some itunes error users have reported attempting to restore their iPhone from another computer worked for them.
