Join Now Hi all, We installed a new Konica Minolta printer this spring (model number konica minolta scan to email login error is bizhub C224e). The printer was scanning just fine until one day when the executive deleted due to error konica minolta print assistant reported that each time she scans a document, the error message "Failed to complete job" followed by an error code konica minolta error deletion server connection error displays. The error message is the same for each scan, but the error code varies. We accessed the SMB settings in the Administrator Console of the printer and checked the Host address (Host name), File error deletion konica scan to smb Path, User ID and Password. We made sure there are no forward slashes in the host name. On the PC side, we checked the scan folder for share and security permissions. Everything is fine insofar as we can see. Yet this issue remains unresolved. Has anyone else experienced the same scan issue with a printer? If you did, how did you manage to resolve it? Any help is much appreciated. Thomas

In that list you will see a reason for the error. You might see Login Error, Server Connect Error, or something else. Also, what OS are you scanning to? 1 Sonora OP BillWills Jul 3, 2014 at 4:13 UTC Thomas3697 wrote: Hi all, We installed a new Konica Minolta printer this spring (model number is bizhub C224e). KM C550 BizHub scan to SMB failed, deleted due to login error? I have several users setup to scan to email and to SMB (shared folders on filerserver), one of the SMBs stopped working the other day and I have tried everything that I can think of and it still fails and gives the same error. Other users (myself included) can scan to email and to our own SMB folders on the server. The particular SMB account with the problem is a folder on the server that several people in the dept have access to. They scan to this shared folder and then reach it via a mapped drive (while logged into thier computer as themself.) The SMB is a user account that is used as an external email contact. I have double-checked the security and permissions on the SMB account and the person's account who is doing the scannning and everything looks ok. I reset the copier (turned on/off), rebooted the user's pc, reset the password for the scan to SMB account (via web IP access to Konica copier), checked that neither user account was locked out, SMB scan to user account password is (and always was) set to never expire, even deleted and recreated the scan

Linux Desktop Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] We recently had a mysterious problem in which we were unable to send scanned documents to outside email addresses with the settings we had in our Konica Minolta Bizhub 361. When the Bizhub 361 would fail to send a scan via email - the only error message it would supply was: "SERVER CONNECTION ERROR" I believed the setings were correct - but what I didn't know (and wouldn't have been able to find out unless I called AT&T webhosting) was: 1. Our ISP's SMTP service did not require authentication to send an email using their SMTP engine 2. The Bizhub would not send the scan if its told that SMTP authentication is required. Instead, it acts as if it has no communication with the Email server its trying to talk to - leaving the impression that the feature is broken or that a firewall prevents it from getting outside the network. One reason why a Bizhub will fail to send a scan via email - in some circumstances - (with the only error indicated by the machine is stated as "SERVER CONNECTION ERROR") - is shown below. Note that your email client may behave differently then a Bizhub - if you tell a Bizhub that SMTP authentication is required - and its not required - the Bizhub will only report back "SERVER CONNECTION ERROR." Some email clients won't tell you there was an initial problem, but instead, try to send the email without SMTP authentication - even if you provided a user name and password. Quick solution First change the Bizhub's settings so that it thinks the SMTP engine its connecting to does not require outgoing SMTP authentication. If that fails, then try telling it that POP3 authentication is required before SMTP messages can be sent. The two Bizhubs I worked with required 1 administrator email account and settings to be placed in the Bizhub's memory before it will send out emails. I figured this out by using Wireshark to sort out what the issue was. I ran Wireshark on a successful transmission through an Internal Email server I set up in Open SuSE Linux 11.1. Ultimately I wanted to know why the Bizhub would not send its scans to an email account provided by our Internet Service Provider AT&T Webhosting. Once I understood what the requirements were for sending our scans to email - I was able to can solve the problem by understanding its cause. Wireshark is a network packet sni
