00:09edited 00:11 01sI guess I will be the first to post here. I have been testing out a few NAS solutions and so far I very pleased with all the outstanding work you have done in creating this project. I have an LSI 9260-8i. I realize this is not an ideal controller for ZFS. It is a supported card under the FreeBSD 7.3 and FreeBSD 8.1 HCL. I was using FreeNAS 7.2 and created a ZFS pool. Under ZFSGuru I was able to import the pool and use it. But ZFSGuru was never able to see the individual disks. Since my controller does not support JBOD, I had to create each disk as its own VD. I have wiped the drives and recreated the VD's but ZFSGuru is not able to see them like Freenas 7.2 was able to. What are my options? I cant really buy a new controller right now. Thanks Edit: 0.1.7-preview3 AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor (3000.19-MHz K8-class CPU) 8 GiB, of which 7.7 GiB kernel memory (307.2 GiB max.)JasonDeveloper804 postsPosted on 9 January 2011 @ 00:59edited 01:01 08sI have an LSI 9260-8iIs that controller capable of firmware flashes to IT-firmware? On the LSI 1068E chip like on Intel SASUC8i or SuperMicro USAS-L8i, you can flash the firmware to IT-mode so you get a non-RAID controller instead. This is quite important, since a RAID controller will not expose the disks physically to FreeBSD. It could also mean your disks would still 'drop out' when encountering a bad sector. Therefore, i recommend using a HBA controller (= non-RAID controller) running in IT-firmware. For LSI, the IT firmware is non-RAID and IR firmware means RAID mode. Some controllers by default come in IT mode while others come in IR mode instead. So please check whether you can flash your controller that would be best. But ZFSGuru was never able to see the individual disks.Where did you look? Did you look on the Disks page? If your disks don't show there, then please send me the dmesg output (simply enter "dmesg" without the quotes on the command line via the web-interface; enable in preferences first). However, it would be normal that disks not formatted with ZFSguru would ONLY show up on the Disks page and would NOT show up under for example the Pools->Create page where you can select disks to be part of the pool. That behavior is normal. My GUI can work fine with disks that are
