For me it had to do with that crappy Social Club junk that is integrated into the game much Like MGFWL. They both suck and both can cause problems in games. I resolved my issue by hitting the Home button to bring up the Social Club interface and next to the register button is an option to start Social Club without registering and just using a generic default profile. Like issues I've had with MGFWL, the game wigs out unless Social Club is actually logged into and running. Once I went through the process of using the default SC profile, and after waiting for a few minutes it finally started up. You will still get the error, but it has something to do with Social Club crap and not a virus. I just exited the error and and went back into the game. You also might get an error in the game menu for a Social Club patch failing.
