Test by creating the linked Server using "Server Type" as "Sql Server". Then go into "Security" and set your user mapping. As a test, create a SQL login on the remote system and specify that on the "Be made using this security context" Be sure that you can PING the "Linked Server" name first. It fires a stored proc which populates a linked server table then runs this statement:Exec Xp_Cmdshell 'bcp Sfidata.dbo.tblOrderDetail IN "C:\OWDCGiftOrderTransfer\tblorderdetailOWDC.txt" -n -S OWDC -U sa -P password'OWDC is a linked server at another location.I made some changes to the proc, but did not touch the line above. Now I'm getting this error when the job runs from the Agent:Date 2/13/2014 9:45:38 AMLog Job History (Export GiftOrders and GiftCerts to OWDC)Step ID 1Server VSQL2Job Name Export GiftOrders and GiftCerts sql server error to OWDCStep Name Gather Recent Gift Orders and Send DetailDuration 00:00:00Sql Severity 16Sql Message ID 7412Operator Emailed Operator Net sent Operator Paged Retries Attempted 1MessageExecuted as user: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.
