movie directly from the internet I get a message like this, sometimes its a little different though... Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/media-player-11-cant-play-video-from-internet.495748/ settings are correct. I can actually save it to my HDD and then open it, but that gets http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/windows-media-player-errors.103355/ really annoying. Are there any fixes for this yet? Alan, Oct 22, 2006 #1 Advertisements Stmarin Guest It seems that we both have the same problem, is it error message C00D11B3: Encountered a network error? Stmarin, Oct 22, 2006 #2 Advertisements Alan Guest I dont media player cannot think I have ever seen an error code. It just says something about the network or proxys, and nothing happens.. but I can just RIGHT click and "Save Target As" on the website and then it plays just fine... if its a quicktime file they play just fine... but you know how that goes. Alan, Oct 23, 2006 #3 Neil Smith [MVP Digital Media] Guest In WMP, if you go to the player menu Tools -> Options -> Network : Where there's a list of 'streaming proxy settings' often it's set for HTTP to "browser". Click HTTP and then Configure - and set that to Autodetect, then OK, then restart the player. If that doesn't work any

I'm downloading lectures for an online class of mine, and up until yesterday everything was working fine. But i go to watch one today and I get this message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct." I tinkered with the Proxy settings but it didn't change anything. I'm connected to my local network, so everything on that end should be fine. Does anyone have any kind of idea what is causing this? I've tried finding help by doing a google search for the error but I just found generic Microsoft answers that didn't help me any. Any help is much appreciated.
