When I booted my cpu today, UMS wouldn't detect my PS3. After trying several times to restart the server, the ps3 and the cpu, I upgraded to the newest version with a clean install. I also media server updated my Java to the latest version and redownloaded and clean installed the latest version of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Now my PS3 detects the servers, but when I try to play a file, I get a black screen with the message "Media center error: an HTTP (500) error has occured") and then I get taken back to the previous screen, this happens no matter which file I try to play. I checked my connection settings in my PS3, my router, and I see media server error nothing. I've rebooted several times and I always get the same error. This has never happened before, I haven't changed routers or changed anything on my CPU since upgrading to Windows 10. I'm at a loss as to what the problem is. Can anyone help me?Thank you! ums_dbg.zip Dev (55.17 KiB) Downloaded 4 times Top sheath Posts: 3 Joined: Fri Aug 14, 2015 4:42 pm Re: HTTP Error 500 on PS3 Quote Postby sheath » Fri Oct 02, 2015 2:04 pm I get this same error on my PS3 with windows 7 and the latest version of UMS. I can only play files if i go into the transcode folder and select the "No Transcode" option. When i swap to an old install of 3.2 it works just fine. robot) for access to the requested URL. This is a 'catch-all' error generated by the Web server. Basically something has gone wrong, but the server can not be more specific about the error condition in its response to the client. In addition to the 500 error notified back to the client, the Web server should generate some kind of internal error log which gives more details of what went wrong. It is up to the operators of the Web server site to locate and analyse these logs. (Last updated: October 2013) Fixing 500 errors - general This error can only be resolved by fixes to the Web server software. It is not a client-side problem. It is up to the operators of the Web server site to locate and analyse the logs which should give further information about the error. Fixing 500 errors - CheckUpDown Our service monitors your site for HTTP errors like 500. Please contact us (email preferred) whenever you encounter 500 errors on your CheckUpDown account. We then have to liaise with your ISP and the vendor of the Web server software so they can trace the exact reason for the error. Correcting the error may require recoding program logic for the Web server software, which could take some time. 500 errors in the HTTP cycle Any client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) goes through the following cycle when it communicates with the Web server: Obtain an IP address from the IP name of the site (the site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs). Open an IP socket connection to that IP address. Write an HTTP data stream through that socket. Receive an HTTP data stream back from the Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information. This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '500'.
