Solved NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error Keeps Crashing Server Daily Posted on 2008-01-22 Server Hardware Storage 2 Verified Solutions 9 Comments 5,478 Views Last Modified: 2009-08-05 Every day, sometimes twice (today) I get NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error on a server. Only change I have made, as its been running ok for a year, is adding an Adaptec AAR2420SA SATA RAID Controller Card and HP DAT 72 USB Drive. I read some posts on forums which suggest it is not likely to be a hardware (memory) error/malfunction so I dont want to go to the expense of having to change anything un-necessarily. Can anyone suggest what can be done? I have got latest SP for W2k3 and all drivers are up to date as far as I can see. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Andrew. 0 Question by:andrew_2706 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 26 Best Solution bylnkevin Try to run with one new memory dimm and add more memory if you don't receive the error. If the new card is removed, does the problem go away? If so, I would try the card in a different slot if you have another compatible slot. I have seen this for integrated devices on the motherboard too, like the nic. In this case, I think you will turn out to have a hardware issue. If a separate controller card was added to support the new tape drive, you would have to try to isolate between the two cards and the motherboard. 0 LVL 26 Overall: Level 26 Server Hardware 23 Storage 9 Message Expert Comment by:lnkevin2008-01-23 Did you check this article yet? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315223 K 0 Message Active today Author Comment by:andrew_27062008-01-23 Today we have done a
