The upgrade process went fine. The problem is when I try to install the vSphere client on my main PC, I get the error "The Microsoft Visual J# 2.0 Second Edition installer returned error code '1603'."This PC is running Vista Ultimate x64. I've installed it on other PC's, and it works fine. I've also tried installing J# 2.0 separately and I get error 4113.HELP! 11264Views Tags: none (add) vsphereContent tagged with vsphere, upgradeContent tagged with upgrade, clientContent tagged with client, vsphere_clientContent tagged with vsphere_client, j#Content tagged with j# This content has been marked as final. It appears that the issue is directly related to Visual J# and your computer setup. What version(s) of the .net framework do you have installed? Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 2. Re: vSphere Client Installation Error jabraina Jul 29, 2009 9:06 PM (in response to donnie3579) It's Vista, so at least 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. I've also got 3.5. I don't know exactly which service packs, but I've run Windows Update on all my computers to make sure all Security and .NET packages are up to date. Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 3. Sorry to hear that you also bumped into this problem, but I'm also glad that you managed to resolve it with these instructions. What it's doing: Converter is somehow creating virtual machines that have insufficient PCIe slots for the virtual hardware that's in the virtual machine. The "functions = 8" lines basically reconfigure the virtual machine to have more PCIe slots, which means that the PCIe devices added to the virtual machine can all find a slot to call home. These extra PCIe slots are created by default for all new VMs created by Workstation and Player -- it's only Converter-created VMs which are missing them. How I knew to do that: I work on virtual devices and the virtual motherboard here at VMware, so it's my job to know (or figure out) these things. I can match up the messages in th
