You might try contacting the hardware manufacturer for assistance. supported. This error may be caused by the WINDOWS FIREWALL being set to prevent incoming and/or outgoing http://forums.practicallynetworked.com/showthread.php?6781-RESOLVED-all-devices-connected-error-50-this-request-is-not-supported communications on the dial-up connection. To test if this is the case: Go to CONTROL PANEL -> Windows Firewall; turn the firewall OFF and see if the error disappears. If the error disappears, turn http://modemsite.com/56k/duns50.asp the Windows Firewall back ON, and check the settings in the Exceptions tab, and the Advanced tab -> for the dial-up connection. If you cannot locate the bad entry, you can try the 'Restore Defaults' button in the advanced tab (which may produce other undesirable problems depending upon your configuration and software you've added). You could also consider replacing the Windows Firewall with another product as it is dangerous to operate with no firewall. Sometimes you will receive an error and you do not know the cause of this error. That's why most advanced GSM devices support extended errors. Instead of just displaying the "ERROR" message, it also shows an error number. The syntax of this extended error is either "+CMS ERROR: xxx" or "+CME ERROR: xxx". When the error starts with "+CME ERROR", it means that the error is a device specific error code. For instance, you are trying to read a phonebook entry before entering a pincode. When there is a network error, for instance, when you try to send an SMS message when there is no network coverage, you will receive an error which starts with "+CMS ERROR". To enable these extended commands, execute the following commands, or add them to your modems init string: AT+CMEE=1 AT&W Below you can find a list containing almost every error code supported by GSM devices. We try to keep this list up to date, so please send your comments to webmaster@smssolutions.net or post them in our forum. Hello, I have got a problem after upgrade from Windows 2000 Pro to Windows XP Pro. I access internet at home thorugh GPRS on my Nokia 6610 mobile using IrDA for connectivity. Earlier, I was using Windows 2000 Pro and everything was working fine. But happy days of accessing internet came to end when I upgarded to Windows XP Pro (SP1). First problem I encountered is that, I was not able to install the modem. I have Motorola SM56 PCI modem too. Windows XP gave error "Unable to Install Modem". After googling a lot, I found the fix at Microsoft Website http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;883356 and fixed it in registry. After the fix worked fine and both modems (SM56 and 6610) were installed. I was happy for a moment then this problem came. Now When I try to dial out to my ISP, I get error 50. Now this doesnt means that modem got hardware issue and ISP switched off his network. I have Windows XP Pro at office and I used same Modem at there and everything works fine. Even when I browse on mobile it works fine. What I feel is problem is in registry. What I see inconsistent is, my modems got COM Port 22 (SM56) and 23 (Nokia). Earlier in Window 2000 Pro, I had port number 4 and 5. When I was facing Modem Installation Problem then I reinstalled these both modems many times. When I got to ContolPanel>Modem Settings>Nokia or SM56>Advanced Settings>Port It shows that COM ports from 5 to 21 are in use. But in registry I found entries for COM1,2,22,23,15 and 17. Can anyone help me on this issue. I googled a lot but still not found the solution.
