Please help! NewsArchive12-08-1998, 01:00 AMHi, I keep running into error -132 when I use ComponentMoveData, and I'm absolutely stuck. I have a Typical setup type. All components in http://community.flexerasoftware.com/archive/index.php?t-29487.html the installation are included in this setup type with the exception of one invisible component. I call ComponentSetupType and then deselect some subcomponents through coding. Then I install my main components. http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21557478 After this, I reselect the subcomponents and attempt to install them. This is when I run into the error -132. The message is as follows: ComponentMoveData Error Information ComponentMoveData had the move data following error: Media Name: Component: File Group: File: Error Number: -132 I would appreciate any help, as I am stuck with no idea what to do next. Thanks in advance, Dawn NewsArchive12-08-1998, 01:00 AMDawn Mason wrote: > ComponentMoveData Error Information > ComponentMoveData had the following error: > Media Name: > Component: > File Group: > File: > Error Number: -132 > Dawn, component move data -132: Specified media cannot be found. It looks, based on the content you posted, that the variable containing the Media Name (typically svMedia or szMedia) is not being set/incorrectly set. Use the debugger to examine the value of the first argument in ComponentMoveData(): ComponentMoveData (*szMedia*, nvDisk, nReserved ); Check also whether the variable (svMedia or szMedia) is declared globally and then reinitialized in MoveFileData(). Hope this helps, Mitch Mulhall Aspen Research Group, Ltd. NewsArchive12-08-1998, 01:00 AMMitch, Here's the code I use for installing files: if (ComponentMoveData("",nvDisk, 0) < 0) goto error_installfiles; nResult = ComponentMoveData(MEDIA, nvDisk, 0); When I debugged, MEDIA held a value of DATA. Does this sound right to you? Thanks for your help, Dawn Redd Tarp
