The .NET SDK has .NET framework asprerequisite, meaning that the redist must be installed prior to installthe SDK. The SDK will no install the Redist.--Marcel Lugosan, Visual Studio and .NET Setup TeamThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no http://microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup.narkive.com/A4nAclq2/error-1327-invalid-drive-when-trying-to-remove-net-framework-1-1 rights.Use of included script samples are subject to the terms specified athttp://www.microsoft.com/info/cpyright.htm--------------------|From: ***@yahoo.com (Andrew Morris)|Newsgroups: microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup|Subject: Error 1327: Invalid Drive when trying to remove .NET Framework 1.1|Date: 5 Nov 2003 09:16:02 -0800|Organization: http://groups.google.com|Lines: 7|Message-ID: <***@posting.google.com>|NNTP-Posting-Host: 192.249.47.11|Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1|Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit|X-Trace: posting.google.com 1068052562 28619 127.0.0.1 (5 Nov 200317:16:02 GMT)|X-Complaints-To: groups-***@google.com|NNTP-Posting-Date: Wed, 5 Nov 2003 17:16:02 +0000 (UTC)|Path:cpmsftngxa06.phx.gbl!TK2MSFTNGP08.phx.gbl!newsfeed00.sul.t-online.de!t-online.de!news-spur1.maxwell.syr.edu!news.maxwell.syr.edu!postnews1.google.com!not-for-mail|Xref: cpmsftngxa06.phx.gbl microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup:6294|X-Tomcat-NG: microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup||I am trying to remove .NET Framework 1.1 Redistributable using the|Add/Remove Programs tool (Windows 2000 SP3). Discussion in 'Windows XP' started by cinperl, Dec 9, 2005. https://forums.techguy.org/threads/cant-install-windows-update-error-1327.423766/ Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement cinperl Thread Starter Joined: Dec 9, 2005 Messages: 1 We are in the process of upgrading our server and I upgraded a workstation from XP home to XP Pro. Before the upgrade, this workstation was having strange problems - installed Ad-Aware & Spyware Doctor, everything okay. Looks like a previous install of Norton was corrupted because there were two (Norton Antivirus 2003 net framework & 2005) installs and neither one was functioning. The error when trying to install updates, or Norton for that matter, is Error 1327. Invalid Drive: H:\. I followed the directions from Symantec to fix that, then I got Error 1324. The folder path 'My Pictures' contains an invalid character. I figured that after I fixed this error that I would get another and another for each path, so I went back net framework 1.1 and renamed the cd-rom to D, like it was before. I continued to research and it looks like I have a .net framework problem but nothing seems to work to fix it! Should I just wipe hard drive and reinstall everything? Problem is, I can't do it during work hours as the guy needs his computer...oh well! The only update I am having trouble installing is .net framework 1.1 sp1 and it tells me that the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer because the program to be upgraded may be missing or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program - errors 0x66A and 0x663. Any ideas anyone? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks cinperl, Dec 9, 2005 #1 Tripitaka Joined: Dec 22, 2005 Messages: 1 Hey, I've been having the same problem too! Any news on resolving this issue yet? I've been having this .net framwork update 1.1 failures since 2 months ago and while digging to fix my problem, I found that you and I aren't the only ones w/ these issues * Refer to Windows Update Newsgroup for details* http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkID=9581. In the beginning, my .net update would read it is in installing process for hours yet w/ any progress. Eventually
