In some cases, the activation system might not be able to find a version of the CLR to load. This situation typically occurs when an application requires a CLR version that is invalid or not installed on a given computer. If the requested version is not found, the CLR activation system returns an HRESULT error code from the function or interface that was called, and may display an error message to the user who is running the application. This article provides a list of HRESULT codes and explains how you can prevent the error message from being displayed. The CLR provides logging infrastructure to help you debug CLR activation issues, as described in How to: Debug CLR Activation Issues. This infrastructure should not be confused with assembly binding logs, which are entirely different. CLR Activation HRESULT CodesThe CLR activation APIs return HRESULT codes to report

Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement magna Thread Starter Joined: Nov 8, 2012 Messages: 4 UPDATE: I did a system restore to 4 days before, and I can now isolate the issue. After the restore, I tried opening chrome, but it BSOD'd on me. I got suspicious, so I tried opening firefox, and it opened with no issue. Spotify also works. So, from what I know now: I updated Chrome on Nov. 7. On Nov. 8, I started receiving a .net Framework error. Following the error, I thought of updating the .net Framework to version 4.5, which did not help. I then did a system restore back to Nov. 6 I am no longer receiving the .net Framework error. I tried opening chrome - BSOD immediately. Firefox and Spotify worked correctly, no other errors. SO, now that I know the issue is with chrome, how do I go about fixing this? I prefer chrome as my primary browser, so I would like to have it fixed if possible. I have 2 harddrives (a SSD and a HDD), would installing it on the other harddrive work? ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hi guys, this is my first post, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section. This morning, I woke up and turned on my computer as usual, but I received an error message on start up: IAStorIcon.exe - .NET Framework Initialization Error Please set registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework\InstallRoot to point to the .NET Framework install location. So I googled the error and people were suggesting reinstalling the .NET Framework. I had version 4, and I read that updating it will delete previous versions, so when I found that there was a version 4.5, I downloaded and installed it. I restarted, but still get this error. So from there, I looked up IAStorIcon.exe, and read that it could be malware related. I ran MalwareBytes - nothing detected I ran Avast - didn't finish, resulted in BSOD. This concerned me, but here is where I'm looking for help. Should I now run an Avast boot t
