But so far I don't solution, this happened after I switch my server to linode.com lets take an example. www.acemark2u.com is one of the website hosted under the linode server, when I try to debug in https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/, it just couldn't fetch the scrape information correctly, and if I try with url debugger one of the page www.acemark2u.com/about-us, it just show me the error "Error parsing input URL, no data was cached, or no data was scraped." weird things happen. when I try to debug using ip address 106.187.35.114/~acemark2 everything goes smooth. fetching nicely, no error 404 for pages. I suspect it might caused by "gethostbyaddr" function (ref: http://www.gearhack.com/Forums/DisplayComments.php?file=Computer/Network/Internet/Preventing_Your_Web_Server_From_Blocking_Facebook_Share) but so far I don't have solutions. php facebook facebook-opengraph share|improve this question edited May 29 at 1:01 Vini.g.fer 3,07761944 asked Sep 9 '14 at 14:54 bravo net 38041123 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 12 down vote For people experiencing the same issue but for different causes, I discovered a few interesting things about how Facebook "scrapes" pages, checking the logs of the server while doing some trials. First of all: if you never tried to share a page with FB, FB never tried to scrape it, and it will not try to do so if you only put the url in the Debug tool. That's the first reason because you get the error: it just states that FB has no information on the page, you must "force" it to scrape the page. The first time you try to share a page, FB scrapes it (a

However, subsequent posts of the same URL will correctly http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25747758/facebook-error-parsing-input-url-no-data-was-cached-or-no-data-was-scraped scrape the page. I found in these instances, according to apache log records, the FB bot/webscraper does not even reach the server. After further debugging using the OG URL Debugger, I found that the FIRST post will always generate the following error: "Error parsing input URL, no data was cached, or no data was scraped." However, if you then https://help.instagram.com/help/community/question/?id=10153041718989669 press "Fetch New Scraped Information" it will correctly grab the data. In both cases, clicking "See exactly what our scraper sees for your URL" always shows the correct page information. Looks to be a bug in the Feed/Dialog API. Please look into this ASAP. Steps to reproduce: 1. shorten a link with bitly. 2. rename the bitly link with a custom UNIQUE tag. this must be a tag that has never been posted to FB, otherwise it will retrieve previously cached data. 3. Use the URL debugger to verify the data that is scraped. 4. Or, post the link using the Feed/Dialog API -- it will return an empty dialog. Performing this operation after #3 will fetch new data, so you will need to try #4 on a new UNIQUE link. strange problem couple of weeks ago; could not share any links from couple of my sites to Facebook. I mean, I was able to share the links, but nothing showed up when pasting the link to the "What's on https://www.adminlabs.com/solved-facebook-doesnt-fetch-data-when-sharing-url your mind?" field. Never happened to me before. Facebook URL debugger is a great tool for https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/error-parsing-urlerror-parsing-input-url-no-data-was-scraped testing links, because Facebook's cache can be a real pain sometimes. But instead of even remotely partial results, I got (even when fetching new data), without any other output: Error parsing input URL, no data was cached, or no data was scraped. And when echoing from the URL, got: Document returned no data I went through literally all the first ten pages of no data Google and never found any solutions. This was ongoing for weeks. To save you the trouble, here's the basic stuff that have to be right for Facebook sharing to work: Open Graph meta tags (og:image should be more than 200×200 px and preferably 1500×1500): og:url, og:title, og:description, etc. There are many great WordPress plugins for this, for example wonderm00n's and YOAST's When sharing, share without last trailing slash (http://www.google.fi, not http://www.google.fi/) If you use WordPress SEO, disable Force document returned no rewrite titles under Titles & Metas Recommended to use wonderm00n's Simple Facebook Open Graph plugin, it adds all the necessary pieces to make this work properly. I noticed the regular testing didn't help. If you want to test by sharing on your own page, you should add random id to the end of your url, e.g. http://www.google.com/?=34 and change the number again and again. If that doesn't work, then it's probably server side issue. I stumbled on many tips that hint the issue may be on the server side, for example in Stack Overflow and Dreamhost discussions. The culprits in server side: Your domain's DNS records: Check that your records are right. For me the issue was CNAME alias in www, it seems Facebook is not a fan of those and prefers A-record in www instead. When I changed this and waited the TTL, everything was fine. Still got the error, but it fetches the data without trailing slash in URL and that is the most important thing. Double check your records, there should not be anything that you don't need Your SSL certificate has to be properly configured and valid. Check that your mod_security rules are not overly protective Check that Facebook crawler has access to your website and your other settings are not blocking Facebook. Configure your server's whitelist and follow Facebook's best practices here For me the issue might have be
