Tkinter import * import tkFileDialog import pandas as pd import shutil I followed the tutorial on the py2exe website and my setup file is the following from distutils.core import setup import py2exe setup(console=['myfile.py']) When I try to make my exe I get the error: RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded. The preceeding lines are: File "C:\Users\S23689\AppData\Local\Continuum\Anaconda\lib\site-packages\py2exe\mf.py", line 719, in import_hook return Base.import_hook(self,name,caller,fromlist,level) File "C:\Users\S23689\AppData\Local\Continuum\Anaconda\lib\site-packages\py2exe\mf.py", line 134, in import_hook self.msg(3, "import_hook", name, caller, fromlist, level) These lines seem to repeat until the error message is given. Although I have Anaconda installed, I'm using the python file from the path C:\Python27\Scripts so I don't understand what the error message means or why it is there. Help is greatly appreciated! python py2exe 32-bit share|improve this question asked Jun 30 '15 at 15:10 Jeremy G 979 I have experienced the same problem, it appears to be the pandas import. Have you overcome this issue yet? –Steve Sep 29 '15 at 23:53 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer? Share a link to this qu

Data Files matplotlib requires some data files: 1 import matplotlib 2 ... 3 setup( 4 ... 5 data_files=matplotlib.get_py2exe_datafiles(), 6 no module ) (This works for recent versions of matplotlib; for older versions, see this page's history for alternative approaches.) Backends matplotlib has many backends; if all of them get included, your distribution could get large. You might want to do something like: 1 setup(options={'py2exe': { ... 2 'excludes': ['_gtkagg', '_tkagg'], no module named 3 }}) If you omit a backend, you must make sure it isn't the default - for example if you package the wx backend and not Tcl/Tk. The default backend is configured in mpl-data/matplotlib.conf. You can override the configuration in your program by doing, for example: 1 import matplotlib 2 matplotlib.use('wxagg') # overrule configuration 3 import pylab Other things you may need Below are snippets that others have, at one time or another, needed to get matplotlib working.
