That shouldn't be necessary if you're running JDK 6, but also can't hurt. Another thing to try is to run the 'sysinfo' tool with your application's classpath to see what sysinfo reports. –Bryan Pendleton Dec 21 '12 at 0:46 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted Do you load Derby JDBC driver? You can do it using the following java startup command: java -Djdbc.drivers=org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver For another way to load it see docs: http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.7/devguide/cdevdvlp40653.html share|improve this answer edited Dec 20 '12 at 20:14 answered Dec 20 '12 at 20:03 tcb 1,7801018 no! how can I do that?I mean exactly where? –Hanna Dec 20 '12 at 20
Cloudscape http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21213287 database Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) While trying to connect to the Cloudscape database with WebSphere Application Server, you receive an "Error 08001:no suitable driver" error. Cause This error is usually due to an incorrect classpath for the driver or an incorrect database URL. no suitable It can also occur if you don't use a ";" as a separator between the database URL and any options on the command. For example, if you use the following ij.sh command to create and populate the database: ij> connect 'jdbc:db2j:$CLOUDSCAPE_HOME/databases/PRODIGIODB:create=true'; no suitable driver this will cause an Error 08001:no suitable driver Resolving the problem The correct command is as follows: ij> connect 'jdbc:db2j:$CLOUDSCAPE_HOME/databases/PRODIGIODB;create=true'; Replace the colon with a semicolon behind the database name PRODIGIODB.
