to turn some features on the following error occurs, and I am unable to install the features: "An error has occurred. Not all of the features were successfully changed" I am a user with admin rights (as someone mentioned here the problem being non-admin user). I am trying to turn on "Application Development Features" like .Net Extensibility and ASP.Net under "World Wide Web Services". After Windows tries to turn these features on, I receive the error message above. What might be causing this problem, and how can I get these features installed? windows-7 development share|improve this question edited Aug 16 '12 at 17:15 nhinkle♦ 26.9k26111155 asked Aug 15 '12 at 17:50 Nexus23 161117 Right now there isn't enough information to answer your question. If you can edit your question to let us know what you're trying to install and what sort of error shows up, we may be able to reopen it and get you an answer. Some screenshots would particularly help. –nhinkle♦ Aug 15 '12 at 18:16

The solution here helped: http://forums.iis.net/p/1174328/1967812.aspx#1967812 Basically, the problem comes up when you install some component that installs or updates the .NET framework on your machine. In my case, I had installed VS2012 and several components. The link suggests to uninstall and re-install the .NET Framework. For me, it was good enough to repair the .NET 4.5 install, reboot and all problems enabling new window features went away. Good luck! share|improve this answer answered Sep 10 '13 at 14:34 BrotherOdin 626 add a comment| up vote -2 down vote If I do re
Server 2012: Enabling .NET 3.5.1 and/or ASP.NET Posted by Scott Kircher on 31 July 2015 05:44 PM This article describes how to enable .NET 3.5.1 and/or ASP.NET functionality, which are required by certain Wasp software components. Notes The components can be enabled in the same install session if desired. After enabling the component, if the software or feature that requires it still doesn't work, restart the server and try again. (To restart, hover at the upper right corner of the screen or Press the Windows Logo key and C, then Settings, Power, Restart, choose a reason, Continue.) .NET 3.5.1: During the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Setup installation on a Windows 2012 machine you may get the error: "You Must Use The Role Management Tool To Install .NET Framework 3.5." This is because the .NET 3.5.1 framework is included in the operating system and the separate installer from the Wasp software installer is not needed. Open Server Manager. Often this is the first pinned icon in the taskbar. Or click Start, Server Manager. The Dashboard appears. On the right under 1 Configure this local server, click 2 Add roles and features. Next (Role-based or feature-based installation). Next (Select a server from the server pool. The local server is selected by default.) On the left, click Features. Check the first box .NET Framework 3.5.1 Features. Next, Install. Wait until the installation has completed, then click Close. Quit Server Manager. Note: If .NET Framework 3.5 can't be added, go to Administrative Tools > Component Services > right click on My Computer > click on Properties > click on Default Properties tab > change the Default Authentication Level from None to Connect. ASP.NET: Open Server Manager. Often this is the first pinned icon in the taskbar. Or click Start, Administrative Tools, Server Manager. The Dashboard appears. On the right under 1 Configure this local server, click 2 Add roles and features. Next (Role-based or feature-based installation). Next (Select a server from the server pool. The local server is
