%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /clients/nannyshareaustralia/index.php?/$1 [L] and when i run it to the browser this is what it goes Forbidden You don't have permission to access /clients/nannyshareaustralia on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. can someone help me figured this out? Any help is muchly appreciated .htaccess codeigniter share|improve this question asked Aug 25 '14 at 4:35 maco 17117 how are you accessing this through a domain or Directory? –tomexsans Aug 25 '14 at 5:39 through a domain then directory –maco Aug 25 '14 at 6:25 What url are you trying to access? –Sumurai8 Aug 25 '14 at 7:06 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /clients/nannyshareaustralia RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^system.* RewriteCond $1 ^(index\.php|robots\.txt|favicon\.ico|images|js|assets|css) .... Added a RewriteBase rule to your .htaccess granting that mod_rewrite is enabled on your server. note If you access the directory like www.domain.com/clients/nannyshareaustralia you must add a RewriteBase to the .htaccess But if a url/domain is pointed at the folder clients/nannyshareaustralia there is no need for the RewriteBase. share|improve this answer answered Aug 25 '14 at 13:30 tom

I am attempting to migrate my client's website from a company that is not helpful and in fact is preventing her from resolving some fairly minor issues. The current website is www.bella-fresca.com I have successfully backed up her site and moved it to here: http://biz100.inmotionhosting.com/~bigass6/bella/ I have confirmed that all the files were correctly installed in the new location, and the Mysql db was migrated over as well. The Joomla backend shows all the articles correctly and all the products, prices etc in Virtuemart are all correct. There were no errors in the kickstart installation. Its relative to your htdocs root http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/core.html#errordocument if your root is /var/www/site/public/ ErrorDocument 404 /404.html You can also do a full url ErrorDocument 404 http://domain.com/404.html EDIT You can do this for each vhost then Alias /404 /full/path/to/404.html ErrorDocument 404 /404 share|improve this answer edited Aug 10 '11 at 17:30 answered Aug 10 '11 at 17:12 Mike 15.3k32653 Thank you, although is there anyway to do this without having to upload 404.html to each vhost website?
