open not recognised [SOLVED] « on: December 17, 2010, 06:00:20 pm » I'v unable to create dmg error 61 got a .dmg of Machinarium from the Humble Bundle 2 offer.Every time I try to mount the .dmg i get
Error 4960 Mac Dmg
an error saying "Warning, The following disk images couldn't be opened" and saying that the disk image is "not recognised".I have tried:Restarting the computerRe-downloading the .dmg fileMounting the file on another user account dmg input output error on the same Mac.The fix on this website for this problem generally: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10364288-263.htmlUsing Disk Utility to verify or repair the .dmg (neither operation manages to even work with the file)I have not tried the file on another Mac yet.Has anybody had this problem? Is it just me? Only possible (but temporary) solution I saw that might work is to try to open the file with Disk Utility. Anyway, after El Capitan, Disk Utility has been completely changed, so now, in order to disable the checksum verification, you can just open a Terminal window and type: defaults write com.apple.frameworks.diskimages skip-verify -bool true Then open again your .dmg. I get the error: Protocol wrong type for socket . I have Mac OSX 10.11.5 , which is newer than the officially supported versions of dmg not recognized Mac for this installer. Hard to believe that is the problem though since this page says Fusion8 is designed for El Capitan. I tried downloading both VMWare Fusion 8.1.0 and also 8.1.1 and neither will work. Test, I am also a administrator account on my machine. Maybe I am not a true administrator (since this is a work machine)? I have no idea what that error means?
