Join them; script error object expected it only takes a minute: Sign up Object Expected at onLoad up vote 0 down vote favorite I have an own entity called PurchaseOrder. For this entity I have designed a javascript for the onload method which also should http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7406587/onload-event-throws-object-expected-error work perfectly fine. My problem now is that when I want to create a new PurchaseOrder an empty form is coming up as expected but with this error message: There was an error with the fields customized event Field: window Event: onload Error: Object expected If I save this PurchaseOrder and then try to open it again there is no error message. The big problem is that this error message also shows up if I disable the customized onload script http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14263229/object-expected-at-onload or remove my code from the onload event. There is also no error message if I try to open the preview of this entity. I don't want to post any code since this script has about 1000 lines of code and either I'm to stupid or I just can't use the debugger of the IE so I also can't post the snippet where the error occurs. Any help will be appreciated javascript onload dynamics-crm-4 share|improve this question asked Jan 10 '13 at 17:00 Manuel Zelenka 1,0131725 Apart from using the IE debugger I'm not sure what to suggest here. Have you tried sticking in a load of alert('hello') messages to debug? –James Wood Jan 10 '13 at 23:08 No I haven't. But I tried it now and with nothing in the custom onload but the alert and the error still pops up. Could this mean that the onload of the entity itself isn't working? Can such things happen with custom entities? –Manuel Zelenka Jan 11 '13 at 13:06 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted Hit me... Hit me really hard... For days I was struggling with this and you know what the solution was? Publish the entity and refresh the page. Seems like I was testing the whole time the old wrong solution... -.- Anyways, thanks James for trying to help but wi

Posts 200 object expected error driving me nuts RESOLVED (sort of) Maybe I'm just getting too old for this , but I am stuck on object expected error. I'm writing a web page error object expected that will post to a custom application (that I still have to write). The page consists of 2 FORMs and 1 IFRAME which is hidden (display: none). The second of the two FORMs is submitted and its target is the IFRAME. The only element in the returned html is an INPUT who's value will be appended to the textarea in the first FORM. To test my page, I wrote a simple VB 'web server' that displays the post text and then returns the following html. Code:
The function showResult will eventually append the value of cmdResult to the textarea in the first FORM, but for now, I am just trying to determine what is causing my error. When I debug the error, showResult, in the ONLOAD code, is highlighted. If I change the ONLOAD to ONLOAD='alert(document.forms["result"].cmdResult.value;', I get my alert popup with OKAY in it.
