the measurement devices (hard to read scales, etc.) - Usually caused by poorly or miscalibrated instruments. - There are usually ways to sources of error in experiments determine or estimate. - Cannot reduce by repeated measurements, but

can account for in some way. 3. Indeterminate (Random) Errors
- Natural variations in measurements. - types of sources of error May be result of operator bias, variation in experimental conditions, or other factors not easily accounted for. - May be minimized by repeated measurement and using an average sources of error in physics value. Experimental results may be described in terms of precision and accuracy. Precision - relatively low indeterminate error. - reproducibility. - high precision means a number of readings or trials result in values close to the same number. Accuracy - relatively low determinate error. - close to a true value. Accurate and preciseSource Of Error Definition
Precise but not accurate Reliability- a procedure is said to be reliable if it may be completed with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
For most of our investigations we will be concerned with the precision of results. Experimental Data and Measures of Uncertainty Quantities that give some measure of experimental precision are Deviation (individual values) Average deviation Average Deviation of the Mean (Standard Average Deviation) Sample standard deviation (sometimes denoted as ) Standard error It is customary to report experimental results with an uncertainty in the following form Result = Average ± uncertainty The uncertainty is one of the measures of precision given above (a.d., A.D., s, or Sx). For our present cases we will use standard error and report results as Result = Average ± Sx This information is simply preliminary to analyses we will be performing on some sample data, and data we will collect in the future. CoderMedals: 11Projects: 1Exp: 10-12 months Aww... So cute... Can't create sound second time? « Posted 2014-12-18 02:41:25 » Here is a bit of the source:12345678910111213141516171819202122public class Sound extends Point { ... http://www.ahsd.org/science/stroyan/hphys/stats/meas_uncert_1.htm public Sound(String name) { ... source = alGenSources(); alSourcei(source, AL_BUFFER, buffers.get(name)); alDeleteSources(source); source = alGenSources(); alSourcei(source, AL_BUFFER, buffers.get(name)); setDistanceModel(INVERSE); setDirection(0); int error = alGetError(); if (error != AL_NO_ERROR) { throw new RGException(RGException.SOUND, alGetString(error)); http://www.java-gaming.org/index.php?topic=35128.0 } } ... public void destroy() { alDeleteSources(source); }But when I create a sound with the file "laser.wav", then let it play (let it go, let it go), then destroy it, then create another sound with "laser.wav"... It throws this error:1Exception in thread "main" com.redmintie.redgame.core.RGException: [SOUND] Invalid NameI had a look into it and this error is caused by:1alSourcei(source, AL_BUFFER, buffers.get(name));Is OpenAL deleting the buffer? Does anybody know what is happening? Sry for so much code... I tried recreating it in a simpler version but I wasn't able to... also, this is my first time trying OpenAL (it is amazing btw)Thx in advance...EDIT: just found out that you don't actually have to let the sound play out... even if you don't let it play out or dont event start it playing at all... It will still create the same error Is it sad that I still get a fright when the computer beeps at me... philfrei JGO KernelMedals: 207Projects: 5Exp: 5 years Re: Can't create sound second time? « Reply #1 - Posted 2014-12-18 23:02:35 » I haven't worked with OpenAL, but I am curious about one
to generate customized Report Layouts, in the XSF-FO format. These reports are used to print PDF documents from APEX application using the OC4J application server and the http://www.apexninjas.com/blog/algen/ FOP formater. What are Report Layouts? Report Layouts are used in conjunction with a report region or report query to render data in a printer-friendly format, such as PDF, Word or Excel. A report layout can be designed using the Template Builder Word plug-in and uploaded as a file of type RTF or XSL-FO. Report regions of error use a generic XSL-FO layout, which is customizable. A Report Query is a list of one or more data sources, usually SQL statements. Each report query has an associated template, or Report Layout, the default APEX Generic Report Layout, but also user-defined Report Layouts. You can manage Report Layouts and Queries from Application Builder -> Shared Components: sources of error How to setup APEX PDF printing? There are multiple ways to setup APEX PDF printing, either using BI Publisher or using a web server with FOP formatting capabilities, such as Cocoon or OC4J. Out choice was OC4J. How to setup APEX PDF printing with OC4J, here. Further information on how to customize PDF printing, here and here. After folowing the tutorials mentioned above, your APEX instance should be able to print PDF documents using customized Report Layouts. Besides manually customizing the XSL-FO layouts, one could use ALGEN for this purpose. How does ALGEN work? ALGEN is an APEX application that is deployed in it's own workspace and schema, called SCH_ALGEN. During installation time, SCH_ALGEN must be granted some rights, in order to query the APEX views. Also, before creating a layout, the report layouts must be created, with some restrictions. Using the created report layouts, the user is able to generate report layouts, by adding default objects (images, tables, text) to the layout header, footer and body, and
