2014 by Jignesh Jethwa Since couple of days, I have set cron job for oracle 11g database backup with the export utility. Every export backup, i have encountered "ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception" & "ORA-06512: at SYS.DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION" warnings. After searching web, I came to know that user who has backup oracle database is ordinary user & user having lack of execute privileges that: DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION and DBMS_DEFER_IMPORT_INTERNAL. After granting above mentioned privileges, no more warnings have been observed in export log files & issue has been sorted out. http://oracle-in-examples.blogspot.com/2008/03/exp-00008-oracle-error-6550-encountered.html Warnings i have encounted in export log file is as below: EXP-00008: ORACLE error 6510 encountered ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION", line 50 ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION", line 126 ORA-06512: at line 1 Following query will ensure the total privileges assigned to EXPORT user. SQL> grant execute on DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION to BACKUPADMIN; Grant succeeded. SQL> grant execute on DBMS_DEFER_IMPORT_INTERNAL to BACKUPADMIN; Grant succeeded. ? - The reason behind this is http://oracleandunix.blogspot.com/2009/07/ora-06510-ora-06512-errors-during.html some Oracle shops have a specific database user using which https://mrothouse.wordpress.com/2008/01/16/ora-6512-during-full-export/ the databases are exported out rather than the traditional admin users like SYS, SYSTEM or an OS authenticated user "/".The non-admin database user running the export backup does not have an execute privilege on the two packages namely oracle error DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION and DBMS_DEFER_IMPORT_INTERNAL. A successful execute grant on the two packages to the non-admin user resolves the issue of ORA-06510 and ORA-06512EXP-00008: ORACLE error 6510 encounteredORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exceptionORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION", line 50ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION", line 126ORA-06512: at line 1SQL> select grantee,owner,table_name,privilege from dba_tab_privs where 2 grantee='EXPORT_USER';no rows 00008 oracle error selectedSQL> grant execute on DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION to EXPORT_USER;Grant succeeded.SQL> grant execute on DBMS_DEFER_IMPORT_INTERNAL to EXPORT_USER;Grant succeeded.SQL> select grantee,owner,table_name,privilege from dba_tab_privs where 2 grantee='EXPORT_USER';GRANTEE OWNER TABLE_NAME PRIVILEGE---------- ---------- ------------------------------ ----------EXPORTER SYS DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION EXECUTEEXPORTER SYS DBMS_DEFER_IMPORT_INTERNAL EXECUTE Posted by OracleUnix at 3:08 PM No comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) About Me OracleUnix View my complete profile Subscribe To Posts Atom Posts Comments Atom Comments Follow by Email Sociable Blog Archive ► 2012 (2) ► August 2012 (1) ► March 2012 (1) ► 2011 (4) ► August 2011 (2) ► July 2011 (1) ► May 2011 (1) ► 2010 (9) ► November 2010 (1) ► May 2010 (1) ► March 2010 (2) ► February 2010 (2) ► January 2010 (3) ▼ 2009 (24) ► December 2009 (1) ► November 2009 (3) ► October 2009 (3) ► August 200
