You'll need to use the 10g export on the 10g database. Get the 10g client and install it with the database utilities option to get the exp/imp tools. On the flip side, Oracle imp is generally backward compatible with prior releases of exp. share|improve this answer answered Dec 21 '11 at 16:44 DCookie 28.8k84765 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote I use VERSION=10.2 from a 11g client share|improve this answer answered May 22 '14 at 17:52 Ankit 845816 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a gue
that we could use it locally using the exp tool. I had to connect to exp like this: exp user/password@remote_address And then filled in the other http://www.markhneedham.com/blog/2012/01/13/oracle-exp-exp-00008-oracle-error-904-encounteredora-00904-poltyp-invalid-identifier/ parameters interactively. Unfortunately when I tried to actually export the specified tables http://s5schools.blogspot.com/2013/06/exp-00008-oracle-error-904-encountered.html I got the following error message: EXP-00008: ORACLE error 904 encountered ORA-00904: "POLTYP": invalid identifier EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully I eventually came across Oyvind Isene's blog post which pointed out that you'd get this problem if you tried to export a 10g database using an 11g client which is oracle error exactly what I was trying to do! He explains it like so: The export command runs a query against a table called EXU9RLS in the SYS schema. On 11g this table was expanded with the column POLTYP and the export command (exp) expects to find this column. I needed to download the 10g client so that I could use that version 00008 oracle error of exp instead. I haven't quite got it working yet but at least it's a different error to deal with! 904 encountered ORA-00904: "IFREEPOOL": invalid identifier EXP-00008: ORACLE error 904 encountered ORA-00904: "IFREEPOOL": invalid identifier Written By nguyen ngoc hieu on Friday, June 14, 2013 | 10:21 PM Applies to: Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4This problem can occur on any platform.SymptomsExport reports ORA-00904 "IFREEPOOL": invalid identifier while using a version 10.2.0.4.0 export client to export from a 10.2.0.3.0 database. Export Log File --------------- . . Export der Tabelle CALCULATEDFIELDS EXP-00008: ORACLE-Fehler 904 aufgetreten ORA-00904: "IFREEPOOL": invalid identifier CauseThis is an expected behaviour. The version of the Export utility must be equal to the earliest version of the source or target database. Here, the source database isbased on release10.2.0.3.0 and hence the export client has to be a version 10.2.0.3.0.Anexport client of a later release cannot beusedfor the following reasons:The export utility is continuously accessing dictionary objects such as SYS.EXU9LOB. Starting with release 10.2.0.4.0 we introduced additional columns such as 'IFREEPOOL'. This column is not available in 10.2.0.3.0 and hence the client cannot handle this andORA-00904/EXP-00008 appears.Client 10.2.0.4.0 is not supported to export from 10.2.0.3.0 database. Solution The version of the Export utility must be equal to the earliest version of the source or target database.
