vijay_alans Messages: 2Registered: April 2006 Junior Member Hello Gurus, I'm not a DBA but trying to do some DBA work. I did an export of a schema which created a 3GB file and tried to import it in different database. Following are the commands I issued for Export/Import: exp siebel/siebel file=siebel.dmp log=siebel.log compress=y imp userid=siebel/siebel@siebdb_vj file=siebel.dmp log=siebelimp.log full=y Following is the error i'm ending up: IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 604: " ALTER TABLE "CX_CODE_LOOKUP" MODIFY ("CREATED" http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?1056891-IMP-00058-ORACLE-error-604-encountered DEFAULT sysdate )" IMP-00003: ORACLE error 604 encountered ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ORA-00942: table or view does not exist IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 604: " ALTER TABLE "CX_MSLL_INT_LOG" MODIFY ("CREATED" DEFAULT sysdate )" IMP-00003: ORACLE error 604 encountered ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ORA-00942: table or view http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/61563/ does not exist I tried my best in forums to find a resolution but can't. Any thoughtful guidance is really appreciated. The IMP untility tries to create the tables in same tablespace from where EXP utility generated the dmp file. So, after creating the same tablespaces the utility ran successfully. Creating a table called DASHBOARD_ADMINISTRATO is possible, DASHBOARD_ADMINISTRATORR gives again the same error. However, when I switch places of the words in the name, it works fine. There is no limit set on tablename length because several of the imported tables have more characters. I used the same dumpfile to import into oracle 11G and there it was successful. Any ideas, someone? Thx for your help. oracle plsql share|improve this question edited Mar 9 at 9:59 asked Mar 9 at 9:44 Philippe 63 Welcome to SO! Please edit your question and clean up the syntax (get rid of the ", and wrap the lines in a sane way so we can execute it without having to manually remove the linebreaks et.c). Also explain what exactly you mean by "However, when I turn the 2 wors around, it works fine". Finally, try to narrow it down to a Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable example (e.g. get rid of the STORAGE clauses). –Frank Schmitt Mar 9 at 9:48 One

Increase the size of the table column... More details would have been helpful.... Amar "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path."
