Parity Error sending file to Mitsubishi Meldas control Started by Brad St. , Dec 15 2009 07:06 AM Please log in to reply 1 reply to this topic #1 Brad St. Posted 15 December 2009 - 07:06 AM Brad St. Brad S. Members 889 posts Location:Osceola, WI We have just had to replace a pc here that was DNC'ing to our Mit's via RS232 just fine. It had two integrated serial ports but our newer HP needed to have a pci card with 2 ports added to do the job. I've read up and searched on the subject here as well as I could but we are either missing something or the card is crap. With the FIFO buffers full open on the interrupt and receiver options full open we get the longest response time out of the file send before the machine gives a parity error. With the FIFO turned off the file send doesn't seem to register the machines trigger for the file send. HP XW6600 workstation WinXP Pro startech 2 port card Any Ideas anyone, please keep in mind all file settings were copied over from the previous pc that worked. The only thing that has changed ideally is the port. Back to top #2 Brad St. Posted 15 December 2009 - 08:41 AM Brad St. Brad S. Thanks Roger Peterson for listening again =) Looks like we have a cheap serial card here and our great MC Rep has come through again. So Roger, is that worth a beer or maybe two? "Although CNC Transmits DC3 to Host, it recieves data of 10 bytes or more from the Host, thus terminates communication." Thoughts? By: SupportPosted on: Apr 18 2008 at 05:21:45 PMThe exact meaning of that message is that whenever the CNC sends a Stop (Xoff) command to the computer the computer doesn`t stop quick enough. You can do one or more of the following. 1) Disable the Windows FIFO (see below) 2) Make sure XonXoff is enabled in easyDnc 3) Lower the BaudRate 4) Increase the BlockDelay in easyDnc setup The Windows FIFO is a com port setting which you get to via the Windows Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>Ports(Com&Lpt) Select the com port>PortSettings>Advanced this displays http://www.emastercam.com/board/topic/35574-parity-error-sending-file-to-mitsubishi-meldas-control/ a window with sliders to adjsut FIFO. Slide these down to zero and then unchceck the box to disable FIFO. By: Bare KnucklePosted on: Apr 18 2008 at 08:03:02 PMThanks for the response, now I`m getting an E08 Error message but all my parameters on the CNC are the same as the COM port and the settings in the software. I have been able to receive from the CNC but unable to send to the machine. When using XonXoff it`s common to just make a short connection between those two pins at the CNC end of the cable but that won`t work for RTS/CTS flow control. If your co

Here's a link to my story: FJV-25 Vertical Mill parameters, A & Q Hope your parameters and any customizations are backed up. There is a procedure to clear, reload and reformat the memory after the problem has been addressed. I know nothing about the 640 control but I would start by checking the backup battery voltage. You may end up replacing the NC board or at least the memory section of it. Mitsubishi Automation (MEAU) is helpful but they can only go so far as Mazak has personalized the control to match the machine.
