The information in thesystem log in Event Viewer is as below with the Source iaStor and Event ID 5. A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\iaStor0. These messages are repeated in the system log parity error each and every second making a total of hundreds of them andalso worth mentioning is that these entries mostly fill the log like this onlywhen there is much disk activity...when copying large amount of data for instance. I haven't noticed any problems due to these error messages like corrupt data or such, all is fine except for I don't like having my system log look like this and obviously something is parity error was not right... Thanks alot in advance for any help how to solve this. //Richard Edited by WebMaximus - 13 December 2008 at 12:45pm molotov Members Profile Send Private Message Find Members Posts Add to Buddy List Moderator Group Joined: 04 October 2006 Status: Offline Points: 17526 Post Options Post Reply Quotemolotov Report Post Thanks(0) QuoteReply Posted: 14 December 2008 at 4:21am Hi Richard, Does the system use RAID? Are there any other events in the event log? What OS are you using? Have you considered uninstalling the Intel software, and reinstalling the latest version of it (or, using the Windows drivers, if possible)? Have you run chkdsk /r recently? You might check the SMART status of the drive with, for example, HD Tune. Any manufacturer diagnostics that you can run?
