Perflib is not a service. It's a file used by the system. In this case it is keeping track of an unnamed service that is timing out. When you get to the referred registry key, you would check all services listed to see if they have a performance subkey. If it belongs to a third party service, you might want to look up the timeout problem at the support pages for that product before making any changes. Aside: Normally perflib files automatically delete when they are no longer needed. I

I'm getting a 2002 Perflib Error The open procedure for service "PerfDisk" in DLL "C:%Path% \perfdisk.dll" has taken longer than the established wait time to complete. There may be a problem with this exensible counter or the service it is collecting data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was attempted. (Always happends after a boot up) Running Win 2k Server SP 3 and Hotfix 811066. It generates the Error ever 10-15 seconds just like the previous Perflib error did (but the fix was to fix it) Suggestions? Top 1. Events ID 2002,1009, 1017, Errors like PerfLib Hi, I' tring to install a replacement for our NT Servers. We have 2 Machines with two network cards each. One IP conected to the Internet and the Second connected to our local network... The main Server has DNS,DHCP and MS Proxy server installed, on the Second Machine wwe have Exchange 5.5.... I wanted to setup two machine with Windows 2000 Server with similar settings. First sever would have be a DNS & DHCP server and ISA... and on the second server Exchange 2000... My first Problem was when I tried to add the second controller, it could not located the Domian..Apperantly our domian name was to long for it.. "Ourdomin.edu.gr" if But this problem solved itself after installing SP2. Now, I'm getting a lot of errors on the Monitor counter with Perflib, and FileReplicaConn, and FileReplicaSet and on the secondary server I'm getting a huge list of error on the Event log untill it gets full.. I installed SP3, but that did not solve the problem..I Created and in some changed the Opentimeout and the CollectTime to 15,000 in those servces, but nothing... Am I doing something wrong? 2.
