as the playback hardware with PT 9.0.2 I don't get the error, if I do get one Pro Tools will continue to work. If I get the -6085 error with the M Box Pro connected to my mac pro the session then refuses to play back audio until I reset the hardware or reboot the computer and relaunch pro tools, it does not however lock up the computer or pro tools just playback doesn't work. I have been through the pro tools error 6101 mill with this. Any thoughts are welcome. It seems to be FireWire related. I only have the MBox connected to the rear port on my Mac Pro nothing else is connected. I have removed all non standard plugins as a test all plugins are up to date Still happens. Set up a separate user account just for PT still happens. Deleted digi data bases and prefs etc still happens. Have all the recommended settings the way they should be on my mac still happens. I am going to install a clean system on another drive and install PT 9 and then boot off it and see if it still happens then. I have never had issues like this with pro tools on my system ever. My old 002 was rock solid with PT 8.0.3 lancemcv View Public Profile Find all posts by lancemcv #2 05-16-2011, 07:04 PM Park Seward Member Join Date: Jul 2001 Location: Grants Pass, OR Posts: 4,283 Re: DAE error -6085 brings Pro Tools 9 to a halt...please help Avid. Need more info. RAM, OS version, computer. Did you go through all the troubleshooting procedures? Did you change anything else besides installing PT 9? __________________ Park The Transfer Lab at Video Park Analog tape to Pro Tools transfers, 1/4"-2" http://www.videopark.com MacPro 6 core 3.33 GHz, OS 10.11.2, 8 GB RAM, PT12.4.1, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, PreSonus DigiMax, MC Control V3

AAE -6085 AAE -6101 Last Updated : June 3, 2013 Products Affected : Pro_Tools Why do I get DAE -6101 and -6085 errors when playing back on Mac with Pro Tools 9? The can be caused by McAfee Anti-Virus software being installed. The DAE errors can occur whether or not you are using an external audio interface (i.e. MBOX PRO), or the Built-In output on the Mac. The errors usually occur within the first minute of playback. To resolve this issue please use the McAfee Uninstaller application in Mac HD>Applications>McAfee to remove the software. Restart the computer and try playing back again. Related Articles Repeated DAE -6101 and -6085 errors when playing back on Mac with Pro Tools 9. Not open for further replies. Cindy Burns New Member Thread Starter I have been using Pro Tools LE MBox Pro 2, version 7.1.3, with my iMac for the last 14 months, without any real problems. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, I start getting an error message when I playback or record (mostly recording): "Audio device buffer underflowed. If this occurs frequently, try decreasing the H/W Buffer Size in the Playback Engine or remove other Firewire devices (-6085 or -6086)" . The message sometimes comes within a few seconds of starting a session, or can come up to an hour or so into a session. But each time it occurs the session will then no longer allow me to continue either recording or playing back for very long. My specs: iMac Intel 2.16 GHz OS x 10.4.11 (I had 10.4.9 when this error message started a few weeks ago) Space: 447.33 GB available I save my Pro Tools sessions to the internal drive. All my sessions are currently being saved in my documents file, although to be honest I tend to delete them after a short time, when I have had the chance to put the final mix onto a CD or Dat tape. As for external hardware - other than the MBox going into the FW400 port on the back of my Imac, just a printer via USB and my BT router via its thing. No other FW port is in use. Things I have tried: *As it suggests in the message, I have tried decreasing the buffer, plus increasing it, to no avail. *I bought a new Firewire cable (because a Digidesign engineer told me that "The DAE errors 6086,-6085,-6097 all relate to communication error as a result of a interruption or conflict with the data throughput to the unit."). No joy. *I talked to an engineer about geting an external drive, but they don't think this could help. *I reinstalled Pro Tools LE. *I tried the two following workarounds I found
