Pro Tools 7.4 Application Error

Page 1 of 3 1 23 > Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes #1 12-23-2008, 05:40 PM stealthmode Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: queens new york Posts: 11 protools m-powered.exe application error downloaded protools m-audio8 upgrade last night after install following directions properly ,when ever i try to open iget message on restart after install PACEreturned registerer error. error 3 .Does any one know what his means? after hitting ok as the prompt requests it seem that it continues with install. when complete and i try to open program:Protools M-powered .exe Application error.the application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000ld)click ok to terminate. i've tried un-insall re-install many times.install updated pace drivers,use pro tool utilities,remover all plug-in from common folder. It seems a bit unnecessary to clog this place up with tech issues where the info can be found on Avid's own forum. Unless it's technique, workflow or creative, then to me it seems that sort of falls into the realm things that should be asked on the DUC and 99% of the time, deleting your Digidesign Databases and Preferences can resolve your issue. So, I'll post the info on how to do that here to make it easy to find since admittedly, Avid's support is a bit tricky to navigate and unless you've been through all this before it's hard to figure out the first time. And just for posterity, I'll post this here as well: IMPORTANT! You MUST use a secondary hard drive (not your main OS drive) for recording and playback of audio in Pro Tools. Recording or playback from the OS drive is known to be problematic and the cause of many different error types. If you are using your system drive and encountering errors, the first thing you should do is get a compatible drive.
